CINCINNATI, OHIO: Fans flooded social media with messages after Damar Hamlin posted his first public statement since suffering a cardiac arrest during an NFL match on January 2. The second-year safety for the Buffalo Bills took it to Instagram on January 7 and wrote, “When you put real love out into the world it comes back to you 3x’s as much... The Love has been overwhelming, but I’m thankful for every single person that prayed for me and reached out. We brought the world back together behind this. If you know me you know this only gone make me stronger. On a long road keep praying for me! #3strong."

Damar also posted a similar message on Twitter saying, "Putting love into the world comes back 3xs as much… thankful for everyone who has reached out and prayed. This will make me stronger on the road to recovery, keep praying for me." Reacting to the messages, one of the fans wrote, "There’s so much more planned for your life, Damar. Rest up and get well." Another wrote, "We have all been pulling for you, Damar. Can't wait to see all the amazing things you do from here!"

Not just that, the NFL fans applauded the support shown to Damar as ESPN reporters flipped the ESPN "E" on their microphone to resemble a "3" - Damar's number. The sports channel's tweet read, "In honor of Damar Hamlin, the broadcast crew has turned the ESPN mic flags from an E to a 3 #ForDamar." To this, a fan responded by saying, "Good job ESPN."
