Concept Korea F/W 2021
South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) announced on February 16 that they will be going forward with digital runaways and showrooms for the country’s fashion designers who haven’t been able to make a name for themselves at the global fashion scene due to Covid-19 pandemic. By providing them an exclusive platform that can be accessed by the global fans, the companies can easily get more attention.
For the first part of this new initiative, three brands of the country including WNDERKAMMER by Shin Hye Young, UL:KIN by Lee Sung Dong, and JARRET by Lee Ji Yeon would be participating. While TXT’s Yeonjun and singer Bibi are associated with UL:KIN, WayV’s Yangyang would be closely working with Jarret to promote the high-end K-pop fashion. Here are more details.
Yeonjun
In an exclusive interview through Singles Korea, Big Hit Entertainment’s Yeonjun shared his thoughts on the fashion week stating that he took lessons from runaway models. The 21-year-old K-pop star stated, “I wanted to do well as a model, so I took walking lessons from models and practiced a lot in my own time too. it was my first time doing this sort of thing so I think I enjoyed it a lot.”
