Sixth member of Enhypen and Kara's Youngji test positive for Covid in latest cases

Recently, five members of the boy group Enhypen reported testing positive for Covid-19. Members Niki and Sunwoo were said to have initially tested negative. Soon after that on September 2, FNC Entertainment reported that three out of five members of group N.Flying had tested positive for Covid-19. Soon after that, a fourth member of the group, Jaehyeon, tested positive. On the same day, ex IZ*ONE member Ahn Yujin also tested positive for Covid.

As the world is still grappling with the pandemic, more and more cases are being reported from the K-pop industry. HYBE confirmed that a sixth member of the group Enhypen had tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Niki is now Enhypen’s penultimate member to test positive for Covid-19; Sunwoo is the only member still safe from the virus.

Niki from Enhypen tests positive

Enhyphen's agency HYBE announced on September 6 through Weverse that Niki, who was in self-quarantine, had coughing symptoms and was tested positive for Covid-19. The statement said, “Niki will be moving to a treatment facility in accordance with the health authorities' instructions,” as they also added, “The symptoms Ni-Ki are experiencing is judged to be mild.”

Enhypen went into self-quarantine on August 26 after being notified that a filming staff, who was in close contact with them, had tested positive. Since then, Jung Won, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, and Sunghoon tested positive one after another.



 

Kara’s Youngji also tests positive

In addition to that, Heo Youngji, a former member of girl group Kara and who is currently working as a broadcaster, also went into quarantine after she experienced similar symptoms. According to DSP Media, the TV programme in which she currently stars, namely tvN's ‘Comedy Big League’, will inevitably be affected. Her agency stated, “Heo Youngji recently felt unwell and took a Covid-19 test that came back positive. She then took a PCR test and was confirmed positive.”

The agency also stated that she will take the necessary measures in accordance with the guidelines of the quarantine authorities. On the other hand, Youngji had been appearing on various entertainment programs, and which have been now stopped until she gets better.
