LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The WGA strike has impacted a lot of movies and tv shows since it first began, and that continues even today. A plethora of tv shows have been put on pause, upsetting fans all across the world. The newest addition is ‘Uncoupled’ which first started on Netflix, and after being canceled, was picked up by Showtime. Fans were thrilled that they wouldn’t have to let go of Neil Patrick Harris’ series, but now there’s another hurdle.

The writers’ strike continues in full swing and has affected all kinds of production. From halting shows and movies to silencing actors from making changes to the script, and yes, we are talking about ‘Deadpool 3’ here. As long as the strike goes on, this impact will continue, and unless producers or directors have prepared way in advance, there will be a significant lack of content. And yes, we are talking about James Gunn who turned his ‘Superman: Legacy’ script right before the deadline.

‘Uncoupled’ Season 2 hits pause

Well, the good news remains that despite being canceled by Netflix, ‘Uncoupled’ season 2 is still happening, although it will be delayed. Neil Patrick Harris and his husband, David Burtka, appeared on ‘The View’ where amongst other things, they discussed the series. Harris confirms that they were set to start filming Season 2 at the start of July, but the strike has impacted it. Harris says, “We were going to start filming it in the beginning of July but the writers’ strike is happening, so, everything is sort of on pause – go writers, writers strong. So we’re just going to wait until that plays itself out,” as per The Hollywood Reporter. Harris continued, “Hopefully we’ll be able to start filming in warm weather. We filmed Season 1 in cold weather and it’s less fun to have like dating shows where you’re walking down Central Park and like freezing and shivering, [it’s] more fun in a tank top.”

Despite his show being put on pause, Harris continues to support the writers, and the silver lining remains that ‘Uncoupled’ Season 2 will only be postponed, not canceled.

Harris starts a new competition show

Even though ‘Uncoupled’ has been put on pause, that hasn’t stopped Harris and his husband, Burtka, to put their creativity on pause. The couple has started a new competition show that celebrates drag queens, and is titled, ‘Drag Me to Dinner'. Harris says, “We are such fans of both drag performances and sort of the cooking competition show. We think both have great viewership and people who watch these shows are smart and have a good sense of humor. So, we thought to combine the two, not just to see what would happen, but to make it intentionally comedic.” The writers’ strike might have put one project on pause, but there’s no stopping Harris when it comes to honing his creativity and giving his fans, and an entire community, what they want.
