This article contains spoilers for season 6, episode 2.

The official synopsis of 'NCIS: New Orleans' season 6 episode 2 called, 'Terminator Conundrum', warned us that the unit would "investigate a private plane crash after a Navy pilot says she saw an unidentified object prior to the crash. Also, Pride suffers from insomnia and nightmares as a result of being kidnapped and drugged last year.” And while the pilot claimed that the aircraft crash was the result of a possible alien attack -- leading to her superiors dismissing her claims calling her crazy, we will see another person, namely agent Pride suffer from hallucinations and nightmares too -- something that he feels nobody else will believe.

As a result of being poisoned and drugged in the recent past, Pride has been suffering hallucinations, which fans of the show are still having a hard time dealing with. Every time Pride tries to sleep, his mind goes to the terrible place that won't allow him even a moment of comfort. He would go to sleep in his home, but wake up at random places far away -- something that he didn't discuss with anybody on the team until this strange alien attack theory claim comes from the lieutenant.

After trying his hardest to distract everybody with the new case at hand, Pride finally gives in and talks to Dr. Wade -- his long-time friend, who picks up right away on this strange new aura Pride is exuding and keeps pestering him until he came clean. Eventually, Pride ends up telling her about his nightmares, also mentioning how he hasn't been able to get a good night's sleep in the longest time. After recommending him to a neurologist, it turns out all of this is a result of a toxin he was exposed to when he was kidnapped by Apollyon.

The theory also helped the team to solve the alien attack case as they found a piece of what looked like a drone, lodged in one of the victim's throats. Turns out a 'swarm' of drones owned by the victim's stepson attacked the plane because of a fallout between the two. But the mere fact that the possibility of an alien invasion was mentioned and then not followed up with Start Trek references has fans torn even after yet another great episode.

As the episode started airing and after the possibility of liens was mentioned on the episode, Twitter user @nerdyandgirly90 who is a clear fan of both procedurals and aliens, tweeted: "Aliens on NCIS New Orleans? Maybe we'll get some Star Trek references tonight...please? #NCISNOLA #StarTrek." Other fans are still torn about the alien toxin reigning Pride's subconscious, as user @MattiePVazquez went full caps expressing her concerns, writing: NCIS NEW ORLEANS PRIDES STILL HALLUCINATING WAS HOPING THEY’D PUT IT IN THE PAST." Well - here's hoping Pride does find a cure in the coming episodes!

'NCIS: New Orleans' season 6 airs on Tuesdays at 10pm only on CBS.
