It's the battles round on Season 19 of 'The Voice' and the contestants are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to putting on the best performance ever. Gwen Stefani's team got Julia Michaels as their guest coach. With the mentorship of both Gwen and Julia, the team members were in the best hands. So, when Ryan Berg and Liam St John were pitted against each other for the battle round, they looked up to their coaches for guidance.

While Liam had great stage presence and could freely move his body, Ryan had more controlled movement. Both the contestants impressed the coaches with their beautiful vocals, but it was their stage presence and body language that left Gwen and Julia concerned. They felt that Ryan should be able to match at least some of Liam's high energy.

When Liam and Ryan finally took to the stage, they both left everybody shocked with their amazing performance. The duo battled to Aloe Blacc's 'I Need a Dollar'. All the coaches were pleasantly surprised with Ryan's stage presence and how he managed to stay calm despite his make pack falling off mid-performance.

The coaches were divided over whose performance they enjoyed more during the battle.  It was Gwen's turn to decide who the winner of the battle was. After some deliberation, she declared Ryan as the winner for his incredible voice and his stage presence. Unfortunately, fans didn't seem to be in agreement with her decision. Several fans felt that Liam should have been declared the winner, as his performance was better.

A fan tweeted, ".@gwenstefani #VoiceBattles you just let the competition eliminate one of you better singers. Liam smoked Ryan and now you have a less competent singer to take on their better singers. Ryan was boring and linear as you put it. You can’t win by having the other coaches coach you." Another fan wrote, "I thought Liam won this one, just because he was showing more fight!" "Liam was robbed," declared a fan.

Another fan expressed, ".@gwenstefani #VoiceBattles gwen I wanna tell you I enjoyed hearing Liam and ryan performance tonight and I wanna tell you I would of choice Liam over ryan but both of those guys were good and worthy of advancing." ".@gwenstefani #VoiceBattles wrong move on Liam," commented a fan. ".@gwenstefani #VoiceBattles I love Ryan but I thought Liam won that battle," shared a fan.
