'NBC's New Year's Eve 2020' was a star-studded event, featuring some of the most renowned personalities from the music industry. The evening had an interesting line-up of performances and people gathered in large crowds to watch their favorite artistes perform live from Times Square.

Undeniably, Gwen Stefani's performance was one of the main highlights of the evening. The 50-year-old singer chose her classic hit 'The Sweet Escape' for the evening, clad in a silver dress, looking absolutely ravishing.

The New Year special also featured a mesmerizing performance by Blake Shelton. However, fans were clear that Stefani clearly stole the show.

One of her fans expressed, "as someone who attended Gwen's NYE pre-taping, I can attest to the fact that she did NOT lipsync. that’s all- thanks! :) #gwenstefani."

However, Julianne Hough's performance garnered a different kind of reaction. Viewers took to Twitter to point that she was, in fact, "lip-syncing", sounding confident.

Twitter went abuzz with Hough's performance at NBC New Year's Eve 2020, and a majority of the comments were directed at her costume or evident lip-syncing.

While one fan wrote, “#JulianneHough.... Worst lip-sync ever!!!! Switched channels to watch your ex-boyfriend."

"The lip-syncing and spandex costumes of the co-host for @nbc #NewYearsEve2020 #JulianneHough was just... gah," wrote another fan.

"So far, I can tell at least #GwenStefani and #JulianneHough have lip-synced in their New Year’s Eve performances," another added.

And the rest simply joked about how every musician these days is seen lip-syncing. "Britney did it. Beyoncé did it. Ciara probably did it. Every performer has done this #JulianneHough performance already. Host, bye. #NBCNYE," stated a Twitter user.

Also, this isn’t the first time Julianne has been called out for lip-syncing during her live performances. She was subjected to similar criticism for her performance during 'Holidays With The Houghs'.

"I love Julianne Hough, I do. But I believe that her last 3 or 4 performances on TV have been lip-synced, and I can't wait to see her perform without dancing so we can hear her stellar voice live. Damn the girl can dance though! #HolidaysWithTheHoughs," a viewer had noted.
