'Mystic Pop-up Bar' Episode 5 Promo: Manager Gwi hits on Weol-ju, Kang-bae tells Yeo-rin she’s special to him
'Mystic Pop-up Bar' Episode 5 will see Weol-ju, Gwi and Kang-bae face a new threat, a human possessed by an evil spirit. After having helped Kang-bae's colleague escape death by accident, Weol-ju is ecstatic that she is able to make her way through the target of human souls that she was tasked with helping. With Kang-bae's continued assistance, she hopes to quickly complete her punishment to avoid the punishment in hell that is assigned to her.
As she continues to help humans, her past is revealed little by little and for now, what we can be sure of is that the crown prince that she had fallen in love with 500 years ago was as deeply in love with her and has even possibly killed people after Weol-ju committed suicide. Now, in the promo of the upcoming episode, we see Gwi address someone respectfully as His Majesty, which makes us wonder if he knows that crown prince too. Is this why he wants to continue accompanying Weol-ju in her journey.
There is definitely a bit of a romantic overtone to his confession to Weol-ju which is further stressed when someone looks at the two of them sitting by themselves and asks them if they are out enjoying a date. In other scenes, Gwi tries to save Weol-ju from danger as well when the two of them set out to deal with a spirit that has possessed a human. While Gwi might be adept at dealing with evil spirits, Weol-ju isn't and she is put in danger during the fight. However, the burning question now is, is Gwi really a good man? Did he not lust about the evil spirit soul bead in the previous episode?
While these two are dealing with the evil spirit and each other, Kang-bae is facing issues using his skill. He is unable to get guests to confide their worries in him as he used to and this could probably have something to do with Yeo-rin. As we had seen in the past, even Mr. Death's skills stopped working in her presence, so it isn't surprising that Kang-bae's skill is also being influenced the more he keeps her company. He even tells her that Yeo-rin is special to him. Possibly after this, he gets thrown on his back by her, which is a normal reaction for Yeo-rin.
Later, however, when Yeo-rin is with her friend she is told that Kang-bae might be in love with her. Then, we also see Kang-bae sitting with Yeo-rin at a bus stop where she tells him that it is quite hard to be in love. Is she talking about herself, or someone else? We would have to watch that in the upcoming episode.
