Netizens did not take kindly to the act by the musician as many of them criticized him unabashedly.

'It's a good thing online isn't a real place'

"Who cares what he says. Why is he even relevant?" asked one user while another commented, "I know he’s smashed a trans before."

"He literally has posted full on dick pics on his profiles but he's worried about trans people? He's a literal predator," wrote an angry user while another questioned, "He’s still alive!?" One user commented, "It's a good thing online isn't a real place," while another netizen chimed in with, "Tommy Lee thinking posting an OAN clip on his IG and showing his own transphobia is not the flex he thinks it is. Dude. Seriously."

A Twitter user commented, "Major bag alert, it never stops with these guys. I thought Tom Lee @MrTommyLand endorsing sexual assault was a low point #cancelmotleycrue #teammick Motley vanilli". "Trying to stay relevant or finally coming out," another remarked.

'People aren’t allowed to have opinions?'

Not all comments were critical of the iconic musician, as many supporters came to his defense. One user noted, "Nobody is afraid of these misogynistic men who are trying to erase, demean and assert their power over woman with their absurd caricatures of them. They're nothing but violent men who assault and rape and want an audience of children." Another came in support of the legendary drummer, saying, "Thank God there’s still normal famous musicians in the world!!"

One netizen commented, "People aren’t allowed to have opinions? Bullied bc we’re not allowing people to steal our logic and common sense ? What ppl don’t get is we don’t have a prob with trans. We have a problem w u telling us a man w a penis is a REAL woman. That ideology will never fly." "So not buying into the trans mental illness trend makes him a transphobe?" commented another. One remarked, "He is allowed to decide for himself what he supports and what he does not." Referring to the recent Kid Rock controversy, another fan commented, "I’ll drink to that! (A bud light)."
