Mother, disabled daughter found dead in Detroit home by relatives invited for Christmas
The bodies of a 57-year-old woman and her 13-year-old disabled daughter were discovered by family members at around 4 pm on Christmas in their Prevost Street home in Detroit. The family had arranged a Christmas dinner party and had invited over relatives, who came home to the gruesome scene. However, another of the woman's daughters had turned up at home after not hearing back from her mother all day.
Chief James from Detroit Police Department said that the family went to look through the windows after nobody had answered the door for quite a while. When they looked through the windows, they saw what appeared to be a person laying across the floor. The woman's husband arrived at the scene and forced entry to discover that both his wife and daughter had been shot dead. The police were immediately called to the scene.

Detroit Police Department said that the woman's daughter was confined to a wheelchair. Chief James White described the event as an 'unspeakable tragedy'. "It's not often I'm speechless, but you know this is one of those days...I don't know what could have sparked such rage. But my job now is to get this person off the street and to make sure that we bring this family some closure," White stated.
White and his team have not identified the victims, but disclosed they are looking for the woman's husband, Dwayne McDonald, 62, who has been identified as a person of interest in the case. "At this point, we don't know if he is a suspect or a victim himself, but we're very interested in talking to him, he needs to contact the police immediately because we're going to put all resources out to find him and they're already out and they're going to continue to look until we bring him into custody," White said about their progress with the case.
McDonald was not the father to the 13-year-old girl but was living with the girl and her mother. The Detroit Police Department said that McDonald possibly drives a gray Buick Lucerne with a Michigan license plate EKY 4074. Police said that he should not be driving that vehicle and anyone who spots that vehicle must alert the authorities immediately.
The Police Department has also urged the public to bring forward any information they have on the case to Detroit Police Department's Homicide Unit at 313-596-2260, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up.
