JAKARTA, INDONESIA: Netflix's latest Indonesian film, 'Monster', is a thrilling horror, mystery, and thriller that has audiences on the edge of their seats.
The film, directed by Rako Prijanto, follows the struggle of Alana (Anantya Kirana) and Rabin (Sultan Hamonangan) as they try to escape from their kidnapper's grasp.
As the narrative progresses, viewers are drawn into a world of darkness and danger, each moment filled with anxiety and fear.
Murni brutally kills policeman in 'Monster'
Murni (Marsha Timothy) becomes outraged after discovering Jack's (Alex Abbad) dead body and takes out an axe to finish off those responsible for his death.
She quickly discovers the landline ringing and realizes it is from the cops. She breaks it and departs for her room, with Alana following her to retrieve the key so she can free Rabin, who is imprisoned in another room.
Murni takes out a suitcase and heads to the washroom. As Alana accidently hits the luggage, Murni notices the presence of someone in the room and quickly discovers Alana under the bed.
However, a ray of hope shines through while a police siren blares in the background. Murni locks Alana in the room and turns up the television volume so that the police officer cannot hear the children cry for help.
Things take a dramatic turn when the police officer notices the broken landline phone. To investigate more, he goes upstairs, followed by Alana, who has escaped the room through a window.
The girl's sudden appearance catches the policeman off guard, giving Murni a chance to unleash a lethal axe that kills him instantly.
Murni chases after Alana and Rabin in the woods
Murni soon began firing rounds at Alana, but the clever girl doused her attack and eventually launches a surprise attack on Murni, making her unconscious.
After that, she takes out the key, approaches Rabin, and uses a power saw to release him from his shackles. The duo then discovers Murni is missing, who launches a surprise attack on them, but they dodge her blow once more.
After recovering their shoes from the kidnapped car, Alana and Rabin seek refuge in the police car and Alana, in her desperate attempt to seek help, calls out for help on police radio, but Murni once again attempts to attack them.
Later, the youngsters attempt to flee on a bicycle, but Murni pursues them in her car, and the trio finds themselves in a forest, where Murni once again tries her hardest to kill Alana and Rabin, but as luck would have it, the duo escapes.
Following a lengthy cat-and-mouse pursuit, Murni was eventually slain by police as she was about to deliver a lethal axe strike on the kids.
The film concludes with Murni's dead body lying whereas Alana and Rabin are taken by the police.
'Monster' is now streaming on Netflix.
