MLB shortstop Dansby Swanson MARRIES soccer star Mallory Pugh in 'enchanted forest' ceremony
GREENSBORO, GEORGIA: Dansby Swanson and Mallory Pugh are officially husband and wife now. The Atlanta Braves shortstop, 28 exchanged vows with the United States Women's National Soccer team's star, 24, on Saturday, December 10, in an 'enchanted forest' ceremony at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia.
"To get married in front of our family and friends is so special," the couple told PEOPLE. "It means that we are becoming one and get to impact God's kingdom together." The couple gave a fairy-tale look to their ceremony by opting for a white dance floor, gold star chandeliers, and a custom floral installation with greenery and white wisteria. The "modern and elegant nuptials”, embellished with black and white flowers, designs, and décor, “featured classic and timeless touches". A monogram of "M" and "D" was also designed on the invitations, napkins, DJ station, and photo backdrops.

"Mal's vision for her dream ceremony was an enchanted forest canopied with towering trees," says the couple's wedding planner, Sara Fried of Fête Nashville Luxury Weddings. "We added whimsical string lights, romantic crystal chandeliers, and a gorgeous white altar inspired by church windows, and let nature be the focal point."
On her big day, Pugh walked down the aisle in a custom Anne Barge white gown, featuring long-sleeved gloves, a ruffled train, and a bewitching sheer veil. While Pugh looked extremely gorgeous in the breath-taking dress, Swanson also looked dapper in a black tuxedo with a matching bow tie. The pair's rings were by Jason of Beverly Hills. Pugh gifted each one of her bridesmaids Nike Air Force 1 sneakers.
The couple changed into custom Nike pairs, made by the Shoe Surgeon, and headed to the reception, where the main goal "was to have everyone on the dance floor all night long." Pugh and Swanson treated their friends and family with a variety of food stations with their favorite offerings that were open all night. "We loved having everyone in one place to celebrate, dance, and enjoy each other," the couple says.

The newly-wed couple, who originally met through Pugh's brother-in-law who played with Swanson on the Braves in 2017, announced their wedding last month. Swanson broke the news of their wedding, with an adorable black-and-white picture featuring himself and Pugh. They got engaged in December 2021, when Swanson proposed to Pugh with a diamond ring. The couple has achieved so much in their respective fields of play. As Swanson looks for a contract that suits them best, he will likely keep in mind that both he and Pugh are at the zenith of their careers.
