Alex Rodriguez aka A-Rod seems to have once again earned the wrath of baseball fans following his commentary on the Astros vs Dodgers game on September 12. The former Major Basketball League star has been called out for his commentary on the latest game, which has many on social media demanding a steroid test to be run on him.

Rodriguez met with similar reactions previously when he served as the commentator during the New York Yankees and Washington National games on July 23. A significant number of baseball fans and others had expressed disappointment in the sports network for letting an “admitted cheater”, who was entangled in controversy for using PEDs.

He was one of the commentators during the lastest Astros vs Dodgers game along with Matt Vasgersian, which wouldn’t sit well with the viewers. Many are of the opinion that Rodriguez’s commentary is only deteriorating with each passing week. One Twitter user wrote, "Each week Alex Rodriguez has to up his game and say something dumber than the last week", another added, "Alex Rodriguez, as we all know, is just the worst." And, adding to the previous tweets one wrote, "I really can't stress enough how stupid Alex Rodriguez is as a commentator. He says the dumbest shit."

The network has received a lot of flak for continuing their ties with Rodriguez, despite all the scandals he has attached to his name. One agitated user said, "It is BS the Astros get the heat. The Red Sox and Yankees both were cited as cheating by the commissioner. Alex Rodriguez talked about the Astros is crap. Rodriguez cheated. Bottom line.". Meanwhile, questioning ESPN's journalistic values, one said, "If ESPN is going to retain ANY journalistic credibility, they have to discuss issues like the Astros cheating scandal--not have some A** kissing suck up like Alex Rodriguez blather on. Until that happens, ESPN remains simply a shill for players and particularly agents."

It wasn't long before many of Twitter users took to the platform to ask if Rodriguez is on "steroids" following his appearance on ESPN. One tweet read, "ESPN need to drug test Alex Rodriguez, he sounds like his on steroids, talking all that shit STFU". Another added, "Not Alex Rodriguez talking about Cody needing to back off the plate, when he took steroids to be a hitter that could perform"

A few of them noted that they weren't happy about Rodriguez's commentary owing to its content, which reportedly consisted of football references. "Why does Alex Rodriguez insist on making football references during baseball broadcasts @espn," wrote one, while another added, "I hate when Alex Rodriguez calls Dodger games on ESPN. It’s all about him & not about the teams. Can we have stats and such? Fecking frustrating."
