Who was Michael King? WBZ reporter found dead on Thanksgiving, 3 days after he went missing on donut run
HINGHAM, MASSACHUSETTS: A reporter who went missing after a donut run has found dead in Bare Cove Park, in Hingham on Thursday, November 24. Michael King, 53, a WBZ NewsRadio traffic reporter left his home at 11 am morning for a donut run on Tuesday, November 21 but then went missing for a few days, according to his girlfriend, Lisa Farrell Corey.
According to Fall River Reporter, King was supposed to return home before going to work, but it was the last time anyone saw him. Police started looking for King when he did not arrive at work on Tuesday, November 22. Police in Weymouth, Massachusetts, issued an alert at around 4:30 that afternoon. A large group of police officers were at Bare Cove Park on Thanksgiving eve in an effort to search for the missing King. Later, they discovered King's dead body abandoned inside the park. There was no evidence of wrongdoing, according to the chief medical examiner's office. King's girlfriend issued a statement confirming the death of the reporter through her friend, Patti Donahue, on Facebook. The comment section was flooded with condolence messages.

“We are shocked and saddened to share this devastating news of her longtime boyfriend of 13 years. After an extensive overnight search by air and on foot, it was in fact him that was found earlier today in Hingham," read the statement. "She would like to send her heartfelt thank you to everyone who has shared his flyer, sent texts, & assisted in helping to find him, especially the Hingham and Weymouth police Dept and first responders. "Our prayers and deepest condolences also go out to Mike’s extended family, friends, cousins, his brother, coworkers and most importantly his elderly parents Nancy & Mike King.”
Corey herself shared a heartbreaking Facebook post late on Thursday evening, November 24, where she wrote, "Mike should be coming in from work just about this minute. He’s not. We’re supposed to be debating the movie or my show which would already be playing. I can’t write this. I see messages and thank you. Cannot open them right now. Just heartbroken."
Condolences continue to pour in for King's girlfriend and family. "Lisa, my heart is breaking for you. Keeping you and Mike's family in my thoughts. I am so sorry for your loss," one person commented on Corey's post. "Lisa I am so sorry for your loss my thoughts and prayers are with you and your Family," another comment read. "Lisa , my heart aches for your pain. We're so sorry for your loss", a third one wrote.
