Being a celebrity certainly has its perks but also its fair share of troubles. Mulatto, whose real name is Alyssa Michelle Stephens, took to her social media on January 4 to call out her family after they seemingly have been expecting handouts from her. The 'Youngest N Richest' rapper shared some strong words in a series of tweets for family members she doesn't have a relationship with while noting that her fame and fortune are both a blessing and a curse.

"Why the F**K" she began her first tweet. "Family I don’t have a relationship w asking me for shit???" she asked, adding, "F**k you #respectfully." In her next tweet, she expressed, "This why I be on defense all the time." Lastly, Mulatto added, "Shit a blessing and curse."

Mulatto's rise to fame

Considering that Mulatto's breakout into fame largely began in 2019, her aforementioned family members have been quick to try and get in there for some benefits. She also only signed with her label RCA Records in March 2020. For those unfamiliar with her music, Mulatto's most notable early hit is the single 'Bitch from da Souf' which released in January 2019.  The song peaked at No 95 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was certified Gold by the RIAA in the United States.

Prior to that, Mulatto first stepped into the spotlight in 2016 when she became a contestant on the Lifetime reality series 'The Rap Game', produced by Jermaine Dupri and Queen Latifah. The boot camp-style series followed young aspiring rappers in a competition against one another and Mulatto, (then known under the stage name "Miss Mulatto") was the overall winner of the competition. She was offered a recording contract from Dupri with So So Def Records but never accepted the deal as she claimed it wasn't enough money and opted to be an independent artist instead.

Net worth

At just 22 years of age, the young rapper has a net worth of $500,000 in the year 2020, according to several celebrity bio sites. Mulatto has acquired her wealth from music and also from her appearances on television.
