Mike Tindall reveals Jubilee tidbits, blames 'sugar high' for Prince Louis' antics
Royal connection Mike Tindall, who was the England rugby team captain before marrying Queen Elizabeth II's eldest granddaughter Zara Tindall, has suggested that an overabundance of sweets might have caused Prince Louis' show-stealing misbehavior during the Platinum Jubilee.
Tindall's take on Louis' behavior during the jubilee pageant, which included him debating with his mother and covering her mouth, as well as moving lightheartedly from one royal lap to another, ending up with his grandfather Prince Charles, comes after Kate faced a backlash of parenting criticism online following the event. Tindall revealed on his podcast 'The Good, The Bad and The Rugby' with co-host Alex Payne that on the last day of the jubilee festivities during the pageant, the royal children, particularly Louis, were the stars of the show. He said: "Louis was just wanting to have fun and my two are always mischievous so it was trying to keep a lid on [them]." He went on to claim that the source of their agitation could be linked directly to the variety of candy on offer behind the scenes. "There were a lot of sweets out back so they probably had sugar highs."

The royal relation then went on to address some of the criticism leveled at the royals by saying: "It's tough for them, they're all young and they'd been sitting there from two till five it's a long time. As any parent knows you do whatever needs to be done."
Tindall is wedded to Princess Anne's daughter Zara, and the pair has three children. The Tindalls and Cambridges are well-known for their strong relationship, frequently spending family days out together at equestrian competitions and engaging in amusing conversations on official occasions.
"At what point do we go from 'wow, what a relatable toddler moment' to 'wow, you have no control of your children?'"questioned one Twitter user, who posted a video clip of Louis in a contentious encounter with his mother that has gone viral.
At what point do we go from “wow, what a relatable toddler moment” to “wow, you have no control of your children?” Because that video is 😬

Others have been more forgiving, arguing for a better grasp of the reality of regulating a 4-year-old in front of the entire world's media. Among those who applauded Kate's handling of the incident was TV "Supernanny" Jo Frost, who said on Instagram:
"Catherine has never been one to shy away from publicly giving her children a fair telling off to behave and that's a sign of a confident parent who is able to hold boundaries whilst empathetically meeting her children's needs as well as understanding the circumstances."
In an unprecedented move, William and Kate appeared to address the online criticism of Louis' actions in a tweet thanking the people for participating in the jubilee celebrations. The final sentence of the three-part message read: "We all had an incredible time, especially Louis..." This was followed by an emoji with two eyes staring to one side, which Dictionary.com defines as "to draw attention to something the user wants to highlight, especially in situations that involve drama and interpersonal tension." The tweet was then signed off with the letters "W & C," indicating that it was authored by the Cambridges themselves.

Tindall's jubilee-related podcast disclosures did not end with Louis' sugar eating. He also revealed that members of the royal family's extended relatives met for a "cousins' lunch" following the Trooping the Colour procession on June 2. He said: "We had a good cousins' lunch on the Thursday, that was a highlight but outside of that the concert was very, very cool."
He also lauded the queen, with whom he is reported to have an especially good connection, for her emotional encounter with Paddington Bear in a skit aired at the start of the jubilee event. "I think that was probably the best thing for me," he said, adding: "I've always said she was funny but she nailed it."
The Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II was celebrated in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth from June 2 to June 5, 2022, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Queen's accession on February 6, 1952.
