Mel Gibson and Rosalind Ross make grocery run amid lockdown: Here's all you need to know about the two
In cuter quarantine news, Mel Gibson, 64, was spotted on a casual grocery run with girlfriend Rosalind Ross, 29, in Los Angeles during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Don't worry, the couple stuck to LA County's rule which mandated them to wear face coverings while in public. They were seen leaving Erewhon Market in Los Angeles on Wednesday, arm-in-arm as Gibson pushed the cart. The couple has been together since 2014 and they share a child. They welcomed their son Lars Gerard in 2017, making him Gibson's ninth child and Ross's first.
Gibson's relationship with Ross was his first serious one since his tumultuous split with Oksana Grigorieva in 2011. So who is this lady love that has managed to bag one of Hollywood's most esteemed directors and actors? Let's start with before Ross became a fresh face in Hollywood.
Ross is an equestrian having competed as an equestrian vaulter and won a gold medal at the World Equestrian Games in 2010. If that surprises you, you would be thrilled to hear that she's even in the AVA Hall of Fame. Her accomplishments made some noise in the world of sports when she and her former partner, Devon Maitozo, were featured in the ESPN magazine Body issue in 2011 where the duo posed nude on a horse.
After she put being an equestrian on the back burner, Ross majored in literature at Emerson College and decided to focus on screenwriting. Some of the movies she has under her belt are 'Matador' (2014), 'Escaping North Korea: Defiance and Hope in the World's Most Repressive Country' and 'The Contract'.
It was reported that Ross and Gibson met when she applied for a job at Icon, Gibson's production company, in 2014. This was the year the duo began dating. Since then, the couple has not only been quite private about their relationship but have also remained inseparable despite numerous bashful comments about their age gap.
Gibson told The Mirror, “Regarding age and relationships, it's just a number. We dig each other. It might cause a problem and one has a trepidation about these things, but it's working out great. She is a really special person."
