LOSANGELES, CALIFRONIA: Following a shooting rampage at a Nashville school on Monday that left six people dead, three of them children, Megyn Kelly criticized calls for gun control. During SiriusXM podcast on March 28, 2023, Kelly said, "Three 9-year-olds were shot down yesterday by one sick person in addition to the three school administrators."

She went on and added, "There's something wrong with our society and I for one am f—king sick of the knee-jerk — 'It's the guns. Get the guns." "We have 330 million guns, maybe over 400 million by some counts in America."

She further added, "They're not going away. We could do an assault weapons ban tomorrow. They're not going away. All right? We have to take a serious, honest look at what's wrong with us." Kelly said that instead of focusing on guns, people should "figure out what made this person crack." She addded, "but we go through this every time, we try to figure out the issues that led to this person to do it or that person to do it, and then we change nothing. Okay?"

In the end, she said, "We change nothing." Kelly Further added, "make it easier to civilly commit people" to institutions, particularly those who are "showing signs, red flags, that they may be the next school shooter."

'Megyn Kelly is clearly desperate to be relevant again'

However, due to her statement, she received a lot of criticism from the netizens, as one of the users wrote, "Parents in Nashville have to look at their 9yr old's empty bed tonight instead of kissing their forehead and tucking them in. Yet Megyn Kelly has the nerve to go on air and say that what SHE is so "f*cking sick of", is the call to ban assault rifles. Seriously WTAF."

Another user wrote, "Megyn Kelly is clearly desperate to be relevant again I hope that parents of The Covenant School in Nashville grant her wish And put a stop to her career once and for all Then, perhaps, she'll learn what it means to have empathy, or humility Although I doubt it."

The third user wrote, "I would be more encouraged if Megyn was f#cking sick of gun killings . How are things going to change with this mentality or, LACK OF!!" The fourth user wrote, "Megan is just another Boebert, Greene or Blackburn .....she packs a lot of stupid in the teeny brain of hers!!" The last user wrote, "Hey Megyn, how many mass murders are committed with a handgun vs a machine gun? NONE! Get a grip!"
