NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: A Tennessee congressman is facing huge backlash after his family Christmas photo surfaced where he was seen proudly holding assault rifles along with his family members. This comes after the district witnessed a horrific school shooting on Monday, March 27, in which six people lost their lives.
Republican Andy Ogles, his wife and two of their three kids posed with the weapons while standing in front a decorated Christmas tree and smiled for the camera in 2021. The wife and the daughter held the deadly weapons which ditto to the one held by Monday’s killer, Audrey Hale, which she used during the Nashville shooting spree.

Hale carried out her 14-minute shooting spree around 10.15 am before the responding police officers killed her. In the wake of the shooting, Ogles added in a statement, "We are sending our thoughts and prayers to the families of those lost. As a father of three, I am utterly heartbroken by this senseless act of violence.”

One Twitter user said, "Despicable. Hey Green Hills, you vote for these people bc you think you are safe. You are not." Another mocked Ogles by tweeting, "But remember his heart and prays are with Nashville, TN." One defended the family photograph by tweeting, "Judging by the way they’re holding the guns, they’ve all taken a safety course, or just taught how to handle them properly. Many children get taught at a young age how to hunt, or are taken target shooting."
