Meghan Markle channels her inner Kate Middleton as she stuns in daring Louis Vuitton dress
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Meghan Markle seemed to have taken a page out of Kate Middleton's style book as she wore an off-the-shoulder white gown with a thigh-high slit to accept an "anti-racism" award in New York City alongside Prince Harry on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, just a few days after The Princess of Wales put on a nearly identical dress to the Earthshot Prize 2022 event in Boston. The 41-year-old was smiling from ear to ear as she made her way into the Ripple of Hope Gala in New York City, pulling her husband by the hand.
The tickets for the gala attended by the royal couple were sold for a whopping $1 million each. Meghan and Prince Harry accepted the human rights award from the Robert F Kennedy Human Rights Foundation, which includes Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton as its former recipients. Meghan went all out with her collections for the event as she left her shoulders completely exposed by wearing a custom-made form-fitting white Louis Vuitton gown and also featured a racy thigh-high split that flashed her legs while she walked in the Manhattan rain.

The Duchess of Sussex complemented her look with a boxy black clutch and long gold earrings, allowing her glamorous makeup look to shine through. However, many people found a resemblance between Meghan's dress and the bold green gown worn by the Princess of Wales on Friday. Kate and Prince William hosted the eco-friendly Earthshot Gala in Boston which was unfortunately overshadowed by the release of the trailer of Harry and Meghan's Netflix docuseries.
Meghan's dress had an off-the-shoulder neckline, long sleeves, and a slit, much like Kate's gown which was rented in keeping with the environmental ethos of the Earthshot Prize. Meghan's gown had a much steeper price tag unlike Kate's dress, which was a Solace London design that was rented from the online fashion platform HURR for $91 a night. According to Vogue, the Duchess' white gown was a one-of-a-kind piece designed for her by Louis Vuitton's creative director Nicolas Ghesquière.
While Meghan's dress appeared to be similar to Kate's Earthshot gown, the Sussexes' arrival at the Ripple of Hope Gala could not have been further from the climate-focused initiative founded by the Prince of Wales. Meghan appeared to go without any tights and chose not to wear any coat despite the cold and rainy conditions in New York City.

Meghan Markle's subtle tribute to Princess Diana
Meghan added a glittering tribute to Princess Diana as she wore a large blue ring at the event that appeared to be an emerald-cut aquamarine which once belonged to her late mother-in-law Diana.
Kate also wore a piece of Princess Diana's jewelry at the Earthshot Prize Gala which was an emerald-and-diamond choker that matched the green hue of her gown. It was, however, not the first time that Meghan has worn the emerald-cut ring. The jewelry was commissioned by Diana from British jewelry brand Asprey in the 1990s and is estimated to be worth a whopping $90,000.
Meghan was first seen sporting the design at her May 2018 wedding reception at Frogmore Cottage. In 1996, Princess Diana first wore the stunning ring during a trip to Australia. She was pictured wearing the ring at a private viewing and reception at Christie's in aid of the Aid Crisis Trust in 1997. Meghan was also previously seen wearing a $23,000 gold Cartier Tank Française watch that was owned by Harry's mother.
