Meghan Markle's half-sister Samantha serves Prince Harry court papers over 'lies' from Oprah interview
MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: The never-ending Sussex drama has taken a new turn, with Samantha Markle formally demanding that Prince Harry take part in the deposition proceedings under oath on video. She has also asked for Meghan Markle to be interviewed on camera the day before the Duke of Sussex is questioned. She has also further requested that Meghan make separate admissions with regard to the case, including that “Queen Elizabeth was not a racist” and that, “King Charles is not a racist.”
Samantha is suing Meghan for 60,000 GBP in damages and has also made claims that her life and reputation were ruined because of the "malicious lies" that the pair had said in their famous Oprah sit-down interview. She has also made it known that she was not happy about the claims made in the book, ‘Finding Freedom'. She has said that she was the victim of “demonstrably false and malicious statements” which had made her go through a lot of “humiliation and hatred.”

Meghan Markle's estranged sister Samantha accuses her of 'elder abuse' and 'negligence'
The case which is now proceeding toward a jury trial in Tampa, Florida, may happen next January. Markle has also asked for their father Thomas Markle to take the stand and provide a deposition statement. Also called upon for statements are Wales’ royal aide Jason Knauf, and friends of the Sussexes- Christopher Bouzy and her own daughter, Ashleigh Hale.
Daily Mail reports that a mediator has been appointed to keep the case away from court and avoid a trial- this comes amidst Meghan’s lawyer Michael J Kump stating that Samantha’s claims are all "irrelevant." This is because it has been said that Samantha was reportedly angry about Meghan describing herself as an "only child." Kump has stated that the Duchess was only making her opinion known.
The relationship between the sisters has always been frayed, and it came to the fore upon the announcement of the engagement of the Sussex couple. "[Meghan] is, contrary to rumors, she's not my- I'm not her stepsister. I'm not some disconnected sibling raised somewhere else, and then brought together later in life. We pretty much grew up as a normal family. My brother and I were older siblings. When she was born, she was brought home from the hospital to our house,” Samantha said in a recent interview with Tucker Carlson.
FOX News reports that Samantha and her brother were also shocked at being left out of the guest list at their wedding. "At issue is not a matter of closeness as more than 1000 complete strangers are invited. Family is family," she had accused.
