Meghan Markle definitely received a five-star welcome as soon as she landed at City University of London, in Islington, on Thursday to officially launch the last of her four new patronages.

The Duchess of Sussex was greeted by screaming students as she stepped out of her official car in her Givenchy coat, a pair of cream heels, and her hair tied in a chic top-bun.

Meghan is clearly taking recycling tips from her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, as she was seen wearing the same Givenchy coat on Remembrance Sunday in November 2018. The Duchess also seemed to let go of her usually relaxed hairdo and opt for the chic and elegant top bun for the day.

For her first official visit with the Association of Commonwealth Universities, Meghan decided to wear a black pleated dress with a high-low hemline, as she settled into her new role as patron of the international organization, which is dedicated to building a better world through higher education.

The Duchess could clearly be noticed braving the cold weather as it hit her uncovered legs, while she met with members of the board, with excited crowds chanting 'Meghan, Meghan' in the background. During the event, she spoke about her concerns regarding the stigma surrounding impoverished women who are suffering due to attitudes towards menstruation.

The pregnant duchess also highlighted the plight of millions of women around the world who lack access to basic healthcare and sanitary products that women in the West take for granted. Thursday definitely saw the Duchess in good spirits, cutting an elegant figure for her second engagement, all within an intensely busy week.

As a patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, a duty that has been passed down to her from The Queen, Meghan will be essentially joining the world's first and oldest international university network which represents higher education across all 53 Commonwealth countries.

Madeleine Harper, 25, who studies law at City University told FEMAIL: "It was chaos! They've got a huge area for her and closed off all the entrances to the university building - and there were crowds everywhere. My lecture was canceled cause it was in that building and the library was full with everyone trying to see her!"

Meghan, who is due to give birth to her first baby with Prince Harry sometime in April this year, was seen visiting the National Theatre on Wednesday while sporting a $6,534 outfit on her first official visit since she replaced Queen Elizabeth as its patron.

For the occasion, the Duchess looked gorgeous in a $2,618 nude-colored, tailored blazer along with a $2,257 V-neck mini dress designed by Brandon Maxwell, with a Carolina Herrera clutch worth around $1,000, and a pair of Aquazzura Matilde heels estimated at $575.

Apart from ACU and National Theatre, the Duchess of Sussex has also been made the patron of Smart Works, which supports vunerable and unemployed women to return to work, and Mayhew, an animal welfare charity working to improve life for cats, dogs and the people in the community.
