Meghan Markle rocks $6,534 outfit as she takes up role Queen Elizabeth held for five decades
The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, was seen visiting the National Theatre on Wednesday while sporting a $6,534 outfit on her first official visit since she replaced Queen Elizabeth as its patron.
The heavily pregnant Meghan, who was earlier this month announced as the theatre's patron, looked gorgeous in a $2,618 nude-colored, tailored blazer along with a $2,257 V-neck mini dress designed by Brandon Maxwell.
She paired the outfit with a Carolina Herrera clutch worth around $1,000 which she had first debuted at the Trooping the Color event last year.
She finished off the look and outfit with a pair of Aquazzura Matilde heels estimated at $575.
The Duchess also chose to style her hair in a very chic do as she stepped out of the car to wave to a crowd, which began to clap and cheer upon catching a glimpse of the mother-to-be.
Meghan met the director of the National Theatre, Rufus Norris, who revealed that Meghan discussed her interest in Greek tragedies during her visit. Meghan also met with carpenters, metalworkers and other craftsmen who were preparing the sets before she caught a performance inspired by 'War Horse' and put up by pupils from Edith Neville Primary School.
Earlier this month, the former 'Suits' actress took over as the organization's patron. The Queen had held this role for around five decades.
The visit to the National Theatre would have brought back some memories for Meghan whose claim to fame came from her role in the hit US legal drama series 'Suits' where she played the role of Rachel Zane.
Meghan also has a theatre background; she studied theatre as well as international relations at the Northwestern University, Illinois.
The Mirror had previously reported that Meghan Markle's father Thomas Markle had made many sacrifices so that his daughter could fulfill her dream of becoming a performer.
Meghan had earlier said, "He is the person who believed in this grand dream of mine well before I could even see it as a possibility." Thomas Markle also worked as a lighting director on two TV shows and it was while accompanying her father that Meghan got a glimpse into what life could be as an actress.
