Harry and Meghan Markle's 2nd pregnancy has royal family 'delighted', Internet applauds tribute to Diana
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their second child and the royal family is "delighted" about pending arrival. On Valentine's Day, shortly after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced the news of the new child, the entire royal family sent their best wishes to the couple.
A palace spokesman reportedly said that Harry's royal family members are excited by the news of the couple's new child, and said, "Her Majesty, [the] Duke of Edinburgh, [the] Prince of Wales and the entire family are delighted and wish them well," referring to Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and Prince Charles.

Sunday on Valentine's Day, Meghan and Harry shared that their son Archie, who was born in May 2019, is going to be a big brother. "We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother," the couple confirmed in a statement. "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child."
What makes this news even more special for Meghan and Harry is the fact that the previous one concluded in a heartbreaking way. In November last year in an intimate op-ed for The New York Times, Meghan revealed she suffered a miscarriage over the summer. The couple had stepped down from their roles as senior members of the royal family and relocated to their new home in Santa Barbara, California.
It was an even important day for 39-year-old Meghan and 36-year-old Harry as the decision to make the announcement on Valentine's Day held deep meaning. Royal expert and reporter Omid Scobie pointed out on Twitter it was the couple's attempt to pay tribute to Harry's late mother, Princess Diana. "A touching tribute announcing for the Sussexes to announce their exciting news on #ValentinesDay❤️ It was exactly 37 years ago that Princess Diana shared with the world that she was pregnant with Prince Harry," he tweeted.

A longtime friend of the couple and photographer Misan Harriman took to Instagram to share the very private story. "Meg, I was there at your wedding to witness this love story begin, and my friend, I am honoured to capture it grow. Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this joyous news!"
Ever since the news broke out, social media is divided. One faction of the Internet is slamming Meghan and Harry for their apparent hypocrisy in wanting to seek a private life but still making big announcements about life events. The likes of this also included British broadcaster and TV personality Piers Morgan, who took to Twitter to mock Scobie's tweet writing, "BREAKING: Harry & Meghan have announced they’re pregnant and released this cheesy photo of themselves to ensure the media gives the story about their private life more prominence - in their latest courageous effort to stop the same media focusing on their private life." While some joined in of their criticism at the couple, there were more people sending in their blessings than haters.
"BREAKING: Piers Morgan tries to police how a happy- and expecting- couple lives their lives. People worry about when his obsession with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will stop," one user tweeted in response to Morgan.

"Beautiful photograph of a stunning couple. I hope they have a lifetime of happiness and joy," a tweet by another social media user perhaps best compasses the feelings of the internet right now.
