LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After the debut episode of 'Archetypes', many critics had observed that the host, Meghan Markle, spoke almost 1.5 times more than her guest, the legendary Serena Williams. This was followed by a general consensus that Markle used the podcast as a platform to share her personal anecdotes and stories rather than focusing on her guest. The episode had also seen Markle saying 'I' a staggering 200 times.

Now, the Duchess of Sussex has been warned regarding her next guest, singer Mariah Carey. According to Express, Royal commentator and showbiz reporter Kinsey Schofield reportedly warned Markle that her approach of dominating the conversation will not work with the 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' singer.

DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE: Meghan Markle's Archetype podcast sinks after only 60 followers share hashtag

'Archetypes' claimed the number one podcast position on Spotify's charts. However, speaking on GB News, Schofield claimed that most of the listeners tuning in to the podcast are doing so out of curiosity, adding, "This is a case of hate-watching or hate-listening."

"Will she be able to continue having numbers like this?" she asked. Then, referring to the next guest, she added, "I highly doubt Maria Carey will give her as much time to talk about herself as her friend Serena Williams did." Nevertheless, both Carey and Williams are "two huge names" and Markle will be wise to "use those bigger names to elevate herself, to elevate her brand," she pointed out.

However, Schofield predicted that after the first couple of episodes, it will be difficult for the podcast to retain its numbers. She said, "After Maria Carey, we have Mindy Kaling, you know, she’s a great comedian and a familiar name. But the names start to look questionable. You’re not familiar with a lot of the other people on the podcast, so I’m not sure she’ll be able to sustain that number one spot," reiterating that the current rank is only out of pure curiosity.

In addition to this, the Royal commentator claimed that the palace is "likely nervous about it as [Meghan] is obviously not holding back." The next twelve weeks may give the Duchess of Sussex ample time to "complain more about the experiences that she had as a member of the British Royal family," however temporary her inclusion into the family might have been. Schofield also quipped that she does not know if Meghan has "twelve weeks' worth of content" to draw from her experiences as a Royal.

Criticizing Markle for not allowing her first guest, the 23-time Grand Slam singles winner, to share her stories, Schofield said people would have wanted to hear Serena speak about how she overcame stereotypes, especially since "the entire podcast is about how women are supposed to overcome stereotypes." By providing a platform to inspire women, "Meghan had the opportunity to really make a name for herself and be a face of the feminist movement but she said the word 'I' over 200 times in this 50-something minute podcast," she noted.

Since Markle and Williams are "really good friends," the second episode will be a more appropriate test of the 41-year-old host's skills. "We know Mariah Carey is high maintenance," remarked Schofield, adding, "We'll see how much Mariah Carey tolerates it."
