Meghan Markle already in talks with luxury fashion brands including Givenchy for deals worth millions: Sources
Days after Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry started their journey towards becoming "financially independent" after stepping back as senior royals, it is now being reported that Meghan is already in negotiations with top fashion brands.
The 38-year-old former actress has had a significant influence on the fashion industry ever since she became a member of the royal family after marrying Prince Harry in May 2018.
As she begins to evaluate her career options beyond the royal family, she is already in talks with high-end fashion brands including Givenchy, a royal insider told The Sun.
"There have already been active discussions with Givenchy. Some of these deals could be worth millions of pounds," the source said, adding: "I'm sure she is going to link some of the initiatives to their foundation."
The news doesn't come as a shocker, though, as ever since the Duchess had donned the royal title, her signature style and fashion sense has been a hot topic.
The mother of eight-month-old Archie will be dividing her time between the UK and US as she branches out of the royal family.
She had recently released her sell-out Smart Set charity collection in September, with her outfits having inspired many such collections ever since.
Meghan is alleged to be utilizing her fashion contact book with all the big names—the French fashion house Givenchy is among those names.
The Duchess' close friendship with Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy was revealed in December 2018, when the royal surprised the fashion crown by offering a surprise appearance at the British Fashion Awards. Wowing guests and attendees alike, she took the stage to present a gong to her wedding dress designer Keller at the Royal Albert Hall. The best part? Meghan's beautiful black one-shoulder dress was also believed to be one of the creations of the very woman she was honoring.
Winning the prestigious British Womenswear Designer of the Year award, Keller thanked Meghan personally in her speech, saying: "This woman is so amazing. I got to know Meghan on such a personal level. To have someone like that trust you on such a personal moment in their life... I can't thank you enough because it was the most beautiful moment."
This report of Meghan venturing into the world of fashion comes after it was revealed that both she and husband Harry trademarked their Sussex Royal brand on more than 100 items including pencils, socks, and bookmarks more than six months ago, according to Daily Mail.
The couple have an estimated £34 million private fortune to fund their new life and can make even more through various entrepreneurial ventures like TV deals, public speaking, and other partnerships.
