Meghan Markle will ONLY work with A-list directors on her comeback, feels current offers are 'beneath her'
Meghan Markle is planning to return to acting but is only interested in working with A-list directors, an insider has revealed. The ‘Suits’ actress wants to be taken seriously as an actress, and that is why she is only interested in partnering with the most celebrated ones in search of a breakout role.
The industry source also stated that the 38-year-old is worried about critics as they are going to be hard on her, so she wants to make sure a director of the right caliber is attached to the project. The source added that she has "been telling her agents that she wants Ava DuVernay involved and that they need to find the right script."
Reports also claimed that the daughter-in-law of the British royal family has received lots of offers, but "she thinks the majority of them are cheesy and beneath her."
Speaking with the DailyMail.com, the source said: “Meghan is worried that she won’t be taken seriously as an actress. Meghan has made it clear to her team that she will only work with A-list directors, but she doesn’t understand that this doesn’t necessarily mean they want to work with her. This could end up being a very lengthy and tedious process because Meghan wants to control every aspect of whatever project she ends up doing.”
This comes soon after Disney nature released its documentary 'Elephant’ on April 3, which tells the story of jumbos embarking on a 1,600-km migration journey across the Kalahari desert in Botswana. Narrating their epic journey was Meghan and fans thoroughly enjoyed her delivery.
However, it has been speculated now that the former senior royal couple may go overseas for their first joint high paying job, as they "are getting lucrative offers from Japan," the source said. Explaining further, the tipster said: “One commercial could pay for their entire security team for the year. Meghan likes the idea that only the creme de la creme of actors are offered this type of work. She knows they need the money and is not entirely opposed to the idea.”
Meanwhile, another report has claimed that Meghan will soon start her career as a DJ after getting settled in her new house in California with her husband Harry and son Archie. “Genre means nothing to Meghan: she’ll blend ‘Blue Monday’ into ‘RIP Groove’ without breaking a sweat. This is 2020 after all,” a source told Mixmag.
The move to a house in Los Angeles seemed to have made easier her plan to start her career as a DJ. “The Malibu beach house suits her sound amazingly,” the source said, adding, “She’s been vibing off a lot of summery house anthems recently and her record collection is sounding beautiful on her custom Klipsch system.”
Earlier reports by DailyMail said that Harry had instructed his and his wife's agent that they would not do any kind of work that mocked the Queen or the royal family. He had told Meghan's former Hollywood agent Nick Collins of The Gersh Agency, who is currently handling film, TV and philanthropic offers and opportunities on behalf of the couple from around the world, that they will not do anything that is "detrimental to the Queen."
“Harry has instructed his and Meghan's team to nix anything that in any way could be negative towards the royals. Essentially anything that is negative to the Queen, Prince Charles, his brother or the throne is off-limits. It shows that even though he has stepped away from royal life, he does not want to upset his grandmother or father,” an insider said.
