Did Meghan Markle's dad lie to her? Thomas attacks Harry with veiled remark about never dressing 'like Hitler'
Meghan Markle's father Thomas Markle has reacted to his daughter and Harry's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. In the interview, Meghan Markle had said that she found it "hard to reconcile" with her father over how he had insisted that he had not been speaking to the media.
She also explained that she had felt "betrayed" and said, "I look at Archie, I think about this child, and I genuinely can't imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child." She also compared her father to her mother Doria Ragland and appreciated her for maintaining her "silent dignity for four years".

Markle also distanced herself from her sister Samantha. She said, "I think it would be very hard to tell all when you don't know me." In reaction to her comment about feeling betrayed, her father confessed that he did lie to her, but then got defensive. Speaking to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on 'Good Morning Britain' live from Mexico, Thomas said, "Nobody was there to care for us, nobody looked after us. No one helped us. Then I saw a headline saying they recommended... to Harry and Meghan that someone come and help me, someone come and take care of me and Meghan and Harry denied that and said, 'don't do it,' so I was left out to dry."
While he did mention that he regretted posing for paparazzi shots, he added, "in spite of all that, I still apologized, I'm apologizing today again." He also attacked Harry with a veiled remark, saying, "We all make mistakes... but I've never played naked pool and I've never dressed up like Hitler."
Thomas was referring to the 2005 incident when Harry was photographed at Highgrove House at a costume party with a "Colonial and Native" theme, wearing a Nazi German Afrika Korps uniform with a swastika armband. Thomas also added that he will continue to speak to the press until Harry or his daughter, Meghan, reach out to him. He said, "Bottom line is I’ve never heard back from Harry and Meghan in any way, shape or form. Basically what I do because I don’t hear from them, [is] I do a story with the press."
In a statement that sounded like an ultimatum, Thomas said, "If I don’t hear from them in 30 days, I'll do another one. I would love to hear from them. When they decide to talk to me, I’ll stop talking to the press. I've been pushed around and knocked down for one thing I did, for one big mistake I made, and I've apologised for it as many times as I possibly can." He concluded, "I'm available any time we can get together. I'd love to get together. I'd certainly like to see my grandson." So far, there has been no response to Thomas' interview from Harry or Meghan.
