LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meg Ryan, 61, has made her first public appearance in six months and she is looking ‘unrecognizable’ according to fans. The ‘Top Gun’ actress attended the screening of Fox’s documentary, 'Still' at the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on Wednesday, May 3.

‘When Harry Met Sally…’ star chose to wear a red blouse with plaid pants and took a black trench coat. She wore a pair of black boots with the ensemble. While she was looking fresh-faced and smiling gaily with her friends, Tracy Pollan, Bill Murray, and Elvis Costello who were also in attendance, the fans of the ‘You’ve Got Mail’ star wondered whether her taut skin is the result of some cosmetic procedures.

While Hollywood's favorite romantic comedy star neither accepted nor denied the allegations of going under the knife, she once told in 2015 that she does not pay much attention to the speculations about her looks.

Ryan said, “I don’t pay a lot of attention frankly," she says about what's written about her. "There’s a lot of hatred in the world today, it’s so easy to judge. Imagine being a hater, how stupid! My women friends are not sitting around talking about… well, sometimes there are conversations like that, but the people I value talk about kids growing up, what kind of world they are going into, what we are eating, what we are breathing," as per Entertainment Tonight.

She also stressed how she loves her age, "I love my age," before adding, "I love my life right now. I love what I know about. I love the person I've become, the one I've evolved into. In my life I've been scrappy as hell, but I feel easy with things now. I think that comes with age."

The ‘Kate & Leopold’ star further added, "We get stuck in these conversations about looks and hair color and our roots," she adds. "It's interesting and funny for five minutes, but it's not that interesting."

A look at Meg Ryan films

After making her debut in 1981 with ‘Rich and Famous’, she went on to star in movies like ‘Top Gun’, ‘When Harry Met Sally…’ in the 1980s. She has remained a prolific actress through the 1990s and 2000s when she starred in movies like ‘Sleepless in Seattle’, ‘You’ve Got Mail’, ‘City of Mails’, ‘Kate & Leopold’, ‘The Women’. She took a hiatus after starring in ‘Serious Moonlight’ in 2009 and returned in 2015 with her directorial ‘Ithaca’. After that, she went on a break again with her other directorial ‘What Happens Late’ in production.

'Who did this to her???'

"I wish she had aged without surgery. She would have been a beautiful older woman. She really doesn’t look at all like her ‘You’ve Got Mail’ face or an older version of that. But! You know what to each his own," commented one fan. A second fan commented on her looks, "That happens when you over process they look like they already embalm ready to crow!" Another quipped, "Plastic surgery is supposed to make you look BETTER."

The fourth commented, "My goodness is she sick or been in an accident?????" Someone else said, "She ruined her natural beauty. Why do all these women feel the need to do this to themselves?!? It's a real shame. This is ALOT. She's unrecognizable." Another tweeted with sarcasm, "Some L.A based surgeons should be jailed .." Someone else said, "WTF!!!. Who did this to her???. What happened???."

One user however chimed in support of her saying, "It's called aging people! Some people don't age as well as others and that's ok because we are all gonna get old! Let's hope people so worried about it have good personalities and character."
