MOSCOW, IDAHO: People on the Internet are claiming that the suspect arrested in the murders of the four University of Idaho students bought a skin-cutting knife from the Marketplace before executing the barbaric crime. Bryan Kohberger, 28, was taken into custody on Friday, December 30, 2022, in Pennsylvania for allegedly murdering, Kaylee Gonvalves, 21, Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Madison Mogen, 21 in their off-campus home on November 13, 2022.

Kohberger, a Washington State University graduate student, has reportedly been charged with four counts of murder in the first degree as well as felony burglary in connection with the deaths of the four Idaho students. As per Daily Mail, police currently believe Kohberger was alone responsible for the heinous murders. However, the investigators are still in search of the murder weapon used to kill the four students in their sleep. The officials, earlier, revealed that they are looking for a "Rambo Style" military knife.

Citing the officials’ claims, a user on Twitter claimed, "This was worth a second glance, IMO. If this is true, I speculate Bryan tried to buy a knife that a previous serial killer used that is no longer made." The user also shared a screenshot of a Facebook comment, reading, “It's legit you can see my FB marketplace account, I've been selling for years. He drove from PA to get the rare knife for $350. It's a rare and discontinued knife meant for cutting skin. From what I remember dude was nice he was with another guy who sat in the car. Flipped open the knife, I told him that you can use a zip tie as an Emerson wave for it. He paid the money and drove off. This was in October.” Another user shared the image of the knife and wrote, “Someone has already an unsubstantiated source who sold Bryan a Spyderco knife on Marketplace for $350.”

Kohberger was reportedly arrested from his parents' Poconos house, where the police also found the white Hyundai Elantra, which they had been searching for many weeks. According to law enforcement sources, he traveled across the country in the said vehicle and landed at his parent's residence in Pennsylvania around Christmas. At some point during his journey from Idaho to the east, authorities started tracking him. “Sometime right before Christmas we were zeroing in on him being in or going to Pennsylvania,” sources told CNN. As of now, investigators have not publicly confirmed a motive for the murders.

Monroe County Chief Public Defender Jason LaBar stated that Kohberger will agree to forego his extradition hearing, scheduled for Tuesday, January 3, to be extradited to Idaho. LaBar reportedly said that Kohberger was "shocked a little bit" by the allegations against him but "he's calm right now." "We don't really know much about the case. I don't have any affidavit or probable cause. I didn't want to discuss the case with him because I'm merely his representation for this procedural issue as to whether or not he wants to be extradited back to Idaho," LaBar added.
