Spoilers ahead for season 2 episode 9 'Itzam-Ye' of 'Mayans MC'

The Galindo house is full of secrets. Each member of the Galindo family is holding secrets and keeping things from each other. And at this point, it has all come back to bite them. Especially the relationship Miguel Galindo (Danny Pino) and Emily (Sarah Bolger) share.

Somewhere at the beginning of episode 9 of 'Mayans MC', Miguel wakes up in the middle of the night without his wife Emily by his side. When he gets downstairs, he sees Emily by the pool smoking and drinking wine. Nestor (Gino Vento), who was charged with keeping an eye on Emily since her meetings with the Reyes family were starting to get out of hand, confirms that she had been up for a while. When Miguel asks how long, he tells him "about half a bottle of Merlot."

Miguel now sees just how much everything that is going on around them is dictating the terms of their marriage. As Nestor sits beside him, he admits how he messed things up. "I fucked us up," he says, "In this shadow game with Potter (Ray McKinnon), Adelita (Carla Baratta) was right, I lost sight of what I already had."

Ever since the threat of Potter started lingering on them and the Galindo Cartel, things between Emily and Miguel have been haphazard. Adelita's involvement in this situation didn't make things better either as she also happened to be the source of some tension between the couple. "Every lie I tell her, I can feel it, man," Miguel admits and says that he gets one in return. Since then, one instance after the other has only led to an increase in the divide between the couple.

Recently, Emily also made some discoveries about her own family that has dwindled her trust in the Galindos, leaving her distraught.

But Nestor tells him, "Maybe the same thing happens with the truth," indicating that trust is a two-way road. Had Miguel been honest with Emily, perhaps even she wouldn't have felt the need to keep secrets.

"Honesty buys honesty," Nestor tells him matter-of-factly. "She loves you. You can't fake that shit. That's not a lie," he says, giving Miguel a lot to think about his relationship with Emily.

'Mayans MC' airs Tuesdays at 10 PM on FX.
