A look into Maya Jama's dating history as Leonardo DiCaprio denies romance rumors
LONDON, ENGLAND: Ever wondered what the glamorous ‘Love Island’ host Maya Jama’s dating history looks like? Impressive, one must admit. With some of the most high profile stars from different fields pursuing the ‘Glow Up: Britain's Next Make-Up Star’ host, she has an interesting dating history.
While The Sun claimed Leonardo DiCaprio, 48, and Jama were spending some cozy times together, the ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ actor has denied the dating rumor. While an insider claimed to The Sun, "They have both recently come out of long-term relationships so neither of them are rushing into anything — they are having fun and seeing how it goes," before adding, "They live in different countries and Maya has had a long distance relationship before and knows it's tough, so they are taking things a day at a time. Leo has certainly been wooing her though, he loves spending time with her," sources close to the 'Romeo + Juliet' star have denied the rumor.
In the wake of this denial as reported by Daily Mail, let’s have a look at Jama’s dating history.

Earlier this year, in an interview to The Sunday Times, she claimed, "I'm really, really single right now. Newly single. It's only been a month, but it's nice."
Stormzy
From 2015-2019, the BBC host and presenter dated British rapper Stormzy. While the pair were together, they often made headlines, with social media often hailing them as their most favorite couple. However, the relationship abruptly ended in 2019 when she allegedly wanted to focus on her career. In The Sunday Times interview, she revealed, "We were so young when we met, just beginning our careers. I don't think either of us knew it was going to be such a big thing."
Speaking about the breakup, the rapper said to the British GQ, "What is the necessary work I have to do to make sure I’m not in this position again? That means growth, accountability, changing my character, changing my routines, my habits, my tradition, my values, my morals,” before adding, "Because how I feel right now and how I've made someone else feel and how I’ve devastated a world that I was living in – I just never want to be in this position again. So what do I need to do?"
Drake
Before getting engaged to Ben Simmons, Maya also drew the attention of an A-lister across the Atlantic. It is said that Canadian rapper Drake took a liking to the British DJ and even sent her messages on Instagram. The ‘Euphoria’ producer even dedicated some lyrics of his Headie One's version of ‘Only You’ to her. The rapper wrote, “Chubbs might jam this yute for a chain / And give it to a sweet one, called that Maya Jama.”
It is also speculated that the feelings were not mutual and Maya was enjoying her own company during that time after the split with Stormzy. In an interview given to Evening Standard, Maya said during that time, "I forgot how much I loved just literally being in a house with loads of my friends, eating, talking, drinking," adding, "I was like, I miss this a little bit. I'm having fun."
Ben Simmons
Maya started dating the Australian born basketball player Ben Simmons in May 2021 and got engaged after a whirlwind romance in December 2021. The pair, who were dividing their time between the UK and the US, called it quits in August 2022 as the continental difference came into their relationship.
Simmons reportedly proposed to Maya with a diamond ring estimated to be worth £800,000 ($900,000). In February 2023, the NBA star asked it back by a legal letter.
