Marjorie Taylor Greene trolled for ‘Jewish space lasers’ remark after House Homeland Security Committee assignment

'We will return the role of the Oversight Committee to investigating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement of the federal government,' Greene said

SAN FRANSISCO, CALIFORNIA: Marjorie Taylor Greene was assigned to the House Homeland Security and Oversight Committees of The House GOP Steering Committee. The committee is responsible to ensure American people were protected from terrorist attacks and focuses on legislation and oversight related to the security of the country. The internet is now trolling Greene over her "Jewish space lasers" statement that she made in 2021 after her appointment to the committee.

According to The New Yorker, Greene made a controversial statement against Jews in 2021, where she said, “If you want to win the war on Christmas, first you take out the person who makes Christmas possible. As I speak, Jewish space lasers are being trained on the North Pole." She was removed from the steering committee on the Education and Budget committees in 2021 for her conspiracy theories and for liking a Facebook comment, calling for the murder of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, as per the New York Post

After being assigned to the committee, Greene tweeted, "My statements on being assigned to the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability and the House Committee on Homeland Security for the 118th Congress." She further added, "Oversight and Accountability, One of the critical agenda items for the Republican majority in the 118th Congress is an oversight. That's why I'm honored to be selected to serve on what could arguably be the most important committee this Congress, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability."

Greene also claimed, "We will return the role of the Oversight Committee to investigating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement of the federal government, which is exactly what the American people are fed up with. Joe Biden, be prepared. We are going to uncover every corrupt business dealing, every foreign entanglement, every abuse of power, and every check cut for The Big Guy. And it's not just the Biden Crime Family, the GOP majority will investigate every bit of government being used to abuse the American people. Every three and four-letter agency will now have to answer to Republican oversight, not the rubber stamp of Democrat rule.I can't wait to get started and look forward to my assignment being ratified next week by the entire GOP conference."

Greene's statement further read, "Homeland Security, It will be my honor to serve my constituents and the American People on the House Committee on Homeland Security to focus on the security of the United States. Our Southern border is being invaded by millions of illegal aliens, criminals, and potential terrorists. Our People are being murdered by Chinese fentanyl flooding in from the cartels. Our Border Patrol and ICE agents have their hands tied and have been turned into a welcoming committee by the Biden administration. Cyber attacks continue on our nation's people and businesses along with many more threats to our homeland. It's time for accountability with Republicans in charge. We will investigate the Biden administration's violations of our laws and fund (and defund) programs to defend our border and American sovereignty. I can't wait to get started and look forward to my assignment being ratified next week by the entire GOP conference." Meanwhile, she has been a huge supporter of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy during the elections, as per The Hill. 

'She belongs in jail for betraying our country! Not on powerful committees!'

The internet quickly reacted to Greene's appointment to the committee and recalled her preposterous conspiracy theories. Famous host Qasim Rashid stated, "GOP leader called Nazis "very fine people." GOP Speaker put Reps who believe in Jewish space lasers & speak at white supremacist events on House committees,& protects a Rep who lied about being Jewish to raise money Every decent soul should condemn GOP's dangerous antisemitism."

Political commentator Karen Finny said, "Today we learned that McCarthy used our nation's national security in his craven dealmaking - putting Marjorie Taylor Green on Homeland Security Committee - she supported the idea that a Jewish cabal with their own space lasers started CA wildfires."

Writer Richard Lewis stated, "Stew, she literally said she believes 9/11 was an inside job, that the Sandy Hook and Parkland shootings were staged, and that Jewish people are using space lasers to start forest fires. Your framing here is so incredibly weak and cowardly."
