ROME, GEORGIA: GOP Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene has won a second term representing Georgia’s 14th district in the House of Representatives, defeating Democrat Marcus Flowers on Tuesday, November 8. She won by 64.5 per cent of votes, whereas, Flowers, an Army veteran and defense contractor, secured 35.5 per cent, reports The Wall Street Journal.

Greene, who has been a controversial Republican, is a strong supporter of former president Donald Trump and a promoter of antisemitic conspiracy theories such as QAnon. Earlier this year, her personal Twitter account was permanently banned after she repeatedly violated the social network's COVID-19 misinformation policy, as per Variety. She has also made repeated calls for Joe Biden's impeachment since he took office. She wrote on Twitter on Monday, November 7, "Throwback to January 12, 2021. I will never forget voting NO against Nancy Pelosi's political assassination attempt by impeaching President Trump with ZERO evidence.” "We will impeach Biden with proof. It will be easy," she added and said in Tuesday's midterm elections at November 7 campaign rally in Vandalia, Ohio, “We can impeach [Homeland Security] Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas, we can impeach [Attorney General] Merrick Garland and we can and we will impeach Joe Biden,” reports Newsweek.

'Marcus never had a chance to win'

Another tweeted, "Marcus never had a chance to win. The money flowing into that race reminded me of the money that flowed into Amy McGrath's challenge to McConnell." While a few showed disappointment, an individual while commenting on Greene's tweet that mentioned "defending democracy is not having elections where mail-in ballots are still counted weeks after Election Day," wrote, "Agree. That you won certainly proves there are issues." Another user said, "Yeah, I knew she’d win too. I’m still pissed though." One user said, "It’s because you’re a class act & very unique in how you conduct yourself & your a breath of fresh air when it comes to being in the government." "MTG should be next Speaker of the House," a user added. "MTG for Speaker!!!!!," a user chimed in. A user added, "Of course she did! @mtgreeneGA #AmericaFirst Rep.
