Twitter suspended the account of Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene "in error" on Sunday, reported the Daily Mail. The Georgia Congresswoman claimed that the suspension of her Twitter handle was carried out after she wished her followers a happy Easter.

The social media platform explained the 12-hour suspension as the site’s algorithm. Greene railed against Twitter for the error on alternative social media site Gab, suggesting that she was suspended for her various right-wing stances.

".@Twitter suspended me again today by “mistake,” after I tweeted, He is risen. I had a wonderful day with family at the beach in the #FloridaFreedomZone. I didn’t miss the hate on Twitter at all, and I’m looking forward to President Trump’s social media platform," Greene tweeted. 

The Congresswoman theorized, while on Gab, that she had been suspended for her various right-wing views, including her position on anti-abortion and opposition to mandating Covid-19 vaccine passports. "After tweeting, 'He is risen! Happy Easter!' I was suspended this morning for 12 hours!' she wrote on Gab. 'Was it my Christian faith? My willingness to Fire Fauci? Message to Big Tech: I'LL NEVER STOP!!!'

Twitter explained their decision in a statement, saying: "We use a combination of technology and human review to enforce the Twitter Rules across the service. In this case, our automated systems took enforcement action on the account referenced in error. This action has been reversed, and access to the account has been reinstated".

The incident marked the second time in a month that Greene has been suspended "in error" by Twitter, according to The Wrap. The social media platform's statement regarding the mistaken suspension at that time, on March 19, was the same. In January, Greene was suspended legitimately by Twitter for spreading misinformation about elections, following the attack on the US Capitol on January 6.

Marjorie Taylor Greene has openly supported conspiracy theories such as QAnon in the past and her likes of social media comments encouraging violence against Democrats has led some in the House of Representatives to push for her expulsion from Congress. In February this year, she was stripped of her committee assignments in a House floor vote where 11 Republicans joined Democrats to vote her off 230 to 199. Last month, a resolution to have her removed from office was introduced by California Democrat Jimmy Gomez.

'Keep her off Twitter permanently'

Netizens jested about the situation and shared their views. "Marjorie Taylor Greene should be kept off Twitter permanently," said one. "Just after posting “He is Risen,” Congresswoman @mtgreenee has been suspended today," said another. "I had a Marjorie Taylor Greene joke, but it got suspended," said a third.

Others wondered why her posts about Mark Gaetz are missing from Twitter. "Marjorie scrubbed her timeline of her love of Matt Gaetz. She doesn't want you to know just how much she loves Matt Gaetz. I wouldn't RT this pic cause Marjorie won't like it," said a Twitter user. "I think you must have accidentally deleted your “I stand with @mattgaetz post. Here ya go," said another.
