'Happy birthday Mama': Mariska Hargitay pays tribute to Hollywood diva Jayne Mansfield on her 90th birthday
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Law and Order: Special Victims Unit’ star Mariska Hargitay is remembering her mother,the yesteryear’s Hollywood diva Jayne Mansfield, who died untimely at the age of 34 in a car crash in 1967. On April 20, the ‘The Girl Can't Help’ actress would have celebrated her 90th birthday had she lived today.
Taking to her social media, Mariska captioned the post by sharing a vintage picture of her mother with the caption, "Happy birthday Mama. We live to love you more each day.” Mansfield, who was once helmed to be the next Marilyn Monroe, was pictured wearing a neutral colored silk dress with a low-cut neck. The blonde beauty flashed her dazzling smile in the black and white photo.

Mariska often shares throwback pictures of Mansfiels on her Instagram page. She rang in the New Year 2023 with a vintage photo of Mansfield wearing a silvery, strappy, figure-hugging dress and holding a glass in one hand.
In another instance. shbe shared a smiling picture of Mansfield with the caption, "We live to love you more each day.💗"
How did Jayne Mansfield die?
‘Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?’ actress Mansfield, whose original name was Vera Jayne Palmer in Bryn Mawr, was born in 1933. She was an educated woman despite her carefully curated image of a dumb blonde. She could speak five languages fluently. Mansfield appeared in a nude photoshoot with Playboy in 1955. A year before her death, she also struck a friendship with Satanist Anton LaVey in 1966. On June 29, 1967, when she was traveling with her lawyer, then-boyfriend Samuel S Brody, and three of her children in a Buick car from Biloxi, Mississippi, to New Orleans, the car experienced a road accident, killing her. Three of her children, including Mariska, survived. After her death, LaVey conducted a Satanic ritual in memory of her in his Black House, San Francisco, reports Daily Mail.
