Mariah Carey shows off svelte figure in black skater dress during night out with BF Bryan Tanaka in NYC
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Mariah Carey was snapped on a late-night dinner date with her long-term boyfriend Bryan Tanaka in New York City on Thursday, October 27. The 'Without You' hitmaker and her partner held hands as they took a short walk to the Paris theatre.
The 53-year-old has known the backup dancer since the early days of her career. However, it was not until 2016 that the pair began a romantic relationship. For the night, Carey wore a fitted matte black skater dress and paired it with a leather corset belt around her waist. The 'Fantasy' singer completed the look with a cropped bolero jacket and ankle-length leggings along with Gucci open-toe platform heels.

The Grammy Award-winning artiste topped off the look with a necklace and a pair of hoop earrings, as well as black sunglasses. Her trademark flowing blonde locks were left loose as she grinned on her stroll with Tanaka.
Her male companion went for a striped leather jacket over a black t-shirt. The 37-year-old also wore dark gray jeans and high-top leather shoes.
The singer and choreographer began working together in 2006 when he accompanied her on the 'Adventures of Mimi' tour. The pair soon started dating in 2016 after Carey reportedly broke off her engagement with billionaire James Packer. The couple reportedly split after five months of dating due to an unknown rift between the two, as reported by People. However, they got back together a few weeks later and have been going strong ever since. "Mariah is really happy. He's always doting on her and they have a great time together," a source told the news outlet.
The insider also acknowledged Tanaka's relationship with Carey's twins Moroccan and Monroe, aged 11, with her ex-husband Nick Cannon. "He's also great with her kids," the source added.
While the pair began their romance after nearly a decade of knowing each other, it appears that they have both always shared a mutual admiration. Carey's ex-fiance Packer was, in fact, reportedly jealous of the duo's chemistry which was very evident during stage performances on tour.
Packer had also banned Tanaka from the Caesars Palace show after Carey gave the professional dancer a lap dance to fix his foot injury as a joke. "That moment when I got to go on stage for a second, it was a special moment in time for Mariah and myself. I felt like no one really understood what I was going through and just to get that little extra love from Mariah… I'm not gonna lie it made me feel a lot better," Tanaka recalled.
