Madonna celebrates 62nd birthday in Jamaica with joint in mouth and marijuana tray, fans call her 'Weedonna'
Madonna has taken her birthday celebration up a notch during a family holiday in Jamaica. The 62-year-old pop icon took to her Instagram to share photos of her and her family enjoying a trip to the Caribbean island country on Sunday, August 16.
In one of the photos, the singer stares deadpan into the camera with a joint in her mouth and holds up a plate full of marijuana, rolling papers, and a candle. Apart from enjoying the recreational use of her weed, Madonna is also in the Jamaican spirit wearing nail polish designed with red, yellow, and the famous green plant and Caribbean-inspired attire. Madonna fans know that she is unafraid of any negative reactions from crowds and her new photo is another addition evident of that. Read up on some of Madonna's biggest controversies here.
Fans were quick to wish her a happy birthday and share their enthusiasm for her weed-smoking. "Happy birthday queen. Your are ageless. Looking divine, fit and showing how is done as usual. Demonstrating that age is nothing but a number. Love u Miss Madonna," said a fan. One fan called her "Weedonna" while another wrote, "Smoke it up Birthday Girl π¬π¨πππππ." One fan teased, "What happened to 'Thatβs why I donβt smoke that dope' πΆ π," referring to a line in the chorus of her 2019 track 'God Control' from her fourteenth studio album, 'Madame X'.
In the other photos, Madonna is seen with her boyfriend Ahlamalik Williams and her 23-year-old daughter Lourdes Leon. The festivities came just a few days after her eldest son, Rocco Ritchie, celebrated a very special birthday of his own as he turned 20. βHappy Birthday Rocco,β Madonna wrote in a social media tribute which showed a number of photos that the proud mother and son had taken over the past two decades. βHow did 20 years go by so fast ?β she asked. She added, βI Love You more than you will ever know.β The singer is also a mother to David Banda and Mercy James, who are both 14. See the photos here.
As far as her new music is concerned, Madonna's 'Madame X' is the latest in terms of studio albums. No new LPs have been announced for 2020, but fans can look forward to a few collaborations. On August 4, Dua Lipa announced that she is releasing a remix album of 'Future Nostalgia' which features a collaboration with both Madonna and Missy Elliott. In May, fans also speculated that Madonna and Britney Spears may be working on a collaboration together. Spears sent fans into a frenzy when she uploaded a photo that read 'Rebel Heart' in pink lettering against a marble-like surface, which immediately sparked a connection to Madonna's 2015 album of the same name.
