'It could be her': Madeleine McCann family ask for DNA test after Julia Wandelt shows 'evidence' she's their daughter
WROCLAW, POLAND: The family of Madeleine McCann has reportedly shown interest in a Polish woman’s claim that she might be their missing daughter. Madeleine was only three when she vanished from a holiday home in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2007. However, recently, a young woman named Julia Wandelt has come forward, asserting she’s Madeleine, and also shared the proof in her favor.
The 21-year-old Polish native has said that like Madeleine, there is a freckle on her leg and a mark on her eye, The Irish Mirror reported. In a post on Instagram, she wrote, “I have Mark in the same eye, but my Mark is faded and I talked with eye doctor and he told me that it could be operated and I will go to doctor again to check it. I need Police investigator who will take it seriously! 😓”

She also added that the McCanns have shown interest in her as she posted on her Instagram account, “Kate and Gerry McCann agreed for DNA test!”
The McCanns are 'taking no chances’
Besides, a source also reportedly shared, “The family is taking no chances, they are willing to look at all leads. It is important they look at all of the factors, the girl does look similar. There’s no disputing that. If what she says is true, there is every chance it could be her. It all adds up.”
According to Wandelt’s Instagram bio, she thinks “I can be Madeleine. I need DNA test. Police investigators from UK and Poland try to ignore me. I will tell my story in posts here. Help me.” A post from her page stated, “1. First reason..I don't remember most of my childhood but my earliest memory is very strong and It's about holidays in hot place where was beach and White or very light-colored buildings with apartments.
“I remember that I saw turtles on the beach it was little Bav as I can remember I saw turtles then and there were another children and they tried to touch small turtles. I don't see my family in this memory..”
‘I need you to help me’
In another post, Wandelt made a sketch of a man public while saying, “This is a person who is wanted. This drawing is on the website @officialfindmadeleine | recognize this person..it looks very similar to my abuser. I need you to help me because the Police ignore me. I need the Police to make dna Test to me and compare it with Madeleine's DNA. I need to talk with Kate and Gerry Mccann.”
One of her posts also names a German serial killer Martin Ney as it added, “It's me... A medical university student in Wroclaw testified (so I read on the Internet) that he saw Madeleine McCann, a few days after her abduction, in Wroclaw. I happened to live in Breslau all the time and have only been living in another city for a year. after several years of hurting me, I recently decided to confront this pedophile, which was not very responsible but I needed it I guess.
“I told him that I knew his son was Martin Ney (the man who was a suspect in Madeleine's case), that I knew they were both involved in the kidnapping, and that he (Peter) was hurting more children himself. It worked in my favor that he didn't recognize me. He asked how I knew take things and was very surprised, really..and asked who I was in general. He was very upset and finagled me in the face with his fist as soon as I told him who I was and that I knew everything.”
