Fourth of July spent in quarantine might not exactly be how you planned to celebrate the holiday this year, but given the Covid-19 lockdown, safe to say the only safe way to celebrate would be to stay indoors. America keeps encouraging social distancing protocols and on the great nation's 244th birthday, Macy's is tweaking things around with their signature fireworks display event held every year. Things won't exactly be the same, but they aren't all hopeless either. Here's all you need to know about the 44th Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks show event.

Air date and time

Given the current regulations in place, it's understandable why a lot of fans of the display might be worried about whether they are getting a Macy's fireworks display at all. Worry not, it's very much happening. The televised Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks special will air on Saturday, July 4 at 8 pm.

Where to watch

NBC will air the live event this Saturday.

How to stream

For those with no access to TV, the NBC website and NBC app will also stream the event. The special is also available for streaming on Apple, Android, Roku, Amazon, Google, Xbox, and Samsung devices, you just have to log in with your TV provider login. For those without cable, you can also tune into NBC via YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, FuboTV, and AT&T Now. Subscriptions start at $50 a month for access to all major networks.

Program

While the show is very much going on, things will be different. To dissuade people from gathering in large crowns, Macy's fireworks display will see a series of small displays than usual, throughout the five boroughs of New York City. The locations of these smaller displays haven't been announced as of yet.

Performers

The two-hour televised event is set to see “a mix of pop and patriotic anthems” who'll be commemorating NYC’s resilience amidst the ongoing pandemic. The celebratory event will be headlined by EGOT musician John Legend, accompanied by performances from Country star Tim McGraw and The Black Eyed Peas.

Grammy-winning artists Alicia Keys is also set to perform, joined by Mayo Clinic surgeon Dr. Elvis as they together honor all front-line workers with salutes. Viewers are also in for a virtual treat of songs like 'America the Beautiful' and 'Lean on Me' by the Young People’s Chorus of NYC. Amanda Gorman and Staff Sergeant Jeremy Gaynor will also appear.
