LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kanye West, 45, has been embroiled in yet another controversy. He was reportedly the named subject in a police battery investigation after allegedly "throwing a woman's phone" at his daughter, North's basketball game on Friday, January 27. West was reportedly attending the match with his new wife, Bianca Censori, and the incident happened after he asked a women to stop filming him. Internet users were quick to react to this development as most of them came forward to defend the rapper while some said that "he is a public person in an public space."

Deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene around 4.30 pm and were provided with the video evidence of the incident, as reported by TMZ. The whole incident reportedly happened near a sports complex where North had a scheduled basketball game. It is unclear whether the woman involved was a professional photographer or just a fan. In a video of the incident uploaded on twitter, West can be seen driving in his car asking a person recording the video to not photograph him when he was out to see his children. He looked visibly angry throughout the interaction before driving off. In the second part of the video, West is seen talking to a woman in a car recording him. He says, "Stop with your cameras," before snatching the phone and throwing it away.

Many netizens came forward to defend West. "He did say stop. The lady was probably happy for the attention," wrote a user. "We stand with Kanye West," added another. Even people who are not his fans supported. "I'm not a kanye fan but I honestly don't blame him. He keeps on getting stalked by fans and the press for wanting to see his children. Same goes for bad bunny, who was attacked by the media because he pushed a fan after they shoved a phone in his face," wrote a user. While another added, "For the first time in like 2 years, kanye is in the right."

Another person wrote, "He was lowkey right in this situation. a FATHER is being harassed while trying to see his KIDS." Another wrote, "Bro if he is asking you to stop stalking him while picking up the kids?! You should stop right away instead of stalking him. This is a breach of privacy while that bad bunny did it cuz just her fan wanted to take a pic and y'll defend him like mad."

Continuing, another user added, "I'm surprised he didn't stamp on the phone too. He did ask them to stop politely and explained why to be fair." A user explained, "Y’all better leave these celebrities alone man it’s a time and a place they are not your property so yes he did what he had to do."

However, some users did not support West. "The fact that he feels he can treat people like this though," wrote a user, while another chimed in, "I dont get it, he is a public person in an public space and thinks he has the privilege to not get filmed cause he is famous???"
