Steve Harvey's daughter Lori charged in Beverly Hills hit and run case, faces one year jail time
Following her hit-and-run in October 2019, Lori Harvey faces one year in prison after being charged with two misdemeanors. The misdemeanors include one count of resisting, delaying, obstructing a peace officer and one count of hit and run resulting in property damage and this was confirmed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
'Family Feud' host Steve Harvey's step-daughter has an arraignment set for January 21, 2020, as City Attorney’s office spokesperson according to TMZ. The same source initially covered the story when Lori had smashed into a car and attempted to leave the scene in Moreno Drive, Beverly Hills, in Los Angeles. She was found walking down the street a few miles away from the accident and was caught by the cops.
Witnesses had given statements that they saw the 23-year-old texting and driving as she crashed into a Prius. Lori was arrested on October 20, 2019, and PEOPLE reported that authorities told the magazine that the young model's car was on its side next to the car she hit. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. She was not taken into custody immediately but got a ticket for the obvious offense and was released. There were no reports of driving under the influence, claiming it a nonfactor in the case.
After the accident, Lori had taken a break off social media only returning to post an ad for Viktor & Rolf Fragrances’ holiday giveaway in November. She made no formal statements on the accident or her case and seemed to have gone back to living life as per usual.
The news of her possible imprisonment comes soon after the model recently celebrated her 23rd birthday in Jamaica. While on that trip, she seemed to have confirmed her romance with Atlanta rapper Future, 36. She had posted videos and pictures of the couple sharing a kiss and captioning it "Life Is Good' and the rapper also posted a picture of them cuddling in a pool with the same caption. The caption also happens to be the name of Future's new song with rapper Drake. The two sparked rumors in December when the rapper shared a photo of the duo on his Instagram stories. He also shared a video of them riding in a car, with Lori in the passenger seat.
