LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lisa Marie Presley had reportedly been dealing with a multitude of health maladies in the months leading up to her tragic death on Thursday, January 12.
Lisa, 54, claimed she had been sober in recent years, but insiders have revealed that her body was struggling to recover from years of alcohol and drug abuse and that she was still reeling from the suicide of her beloved son Ben. Sources claimed in 2021 that she was being "watched over" by her ex-husband Danny Keough, "but it’s up to Lisa Marie to turn things around.” However, despite the best efforts of Danny, their daughter Riley Keough, and her 14-year-old twins with ex-husband Michael Lockwood, Harper and Finley, Lisa had been inconsolable in the aftermath of her son's demise.

It's worth noting that Lisa had struggled to stay sober for over a decade. As reported by Radar Online, she once admitted in a deposition that she was “abusing cocaine terribly” in 2015, while also consuming opioids and alcohol in dangerous amounts. The singer-songwriter also admitted to being so out of it that she couldn't recollect how many times she'd checked into rehab. Friends were concerned at the time that Lisa could spiral off the edge at any moment, with one source spilling to Radar that her inner circle was “deeply worried” about her as she looked “very unhealthy” and seemed headed for ruin.
Lisa died after being rushed to the hospital following a medical emergency on Thursday at her home in Calabasas. An insider told Radar Online that Elvis’ only child went into "full arrest" and that an individual at the property administered epinephrine at the scene. Reports suggest emergency responders were able to regain a pulse before transporting her to the hospital.

Lisa and her ex-husband, guitarist Michael Lockwood, were embroiled in a messy child support battle in her final days. The exes had recently hashed out a deal in which she agreed to pay $6k a month. The late singer had avoided paying child support for years owing to her own financial issues. She had accrued millions of dollars in debt over the years and only recently turned her finances around. Lockwood argued that he deserved support because his ex-wife had "secured a large advance for her memoir, was in control of a $65 million trust set up by Elvis, and made a ton off of the recent Elvis biopic," per Radar Online.

Following her demise, Lisa's mother Priscilla Presley said in a statement, “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate, strong, and loving woman I have ever known." The mother-daughter duo was most recently seen on Tuesday night, January 10, at the Golden Globe Awards, which they attended to support the Baz Luhrmann film 'Elvis' about Lisa's legendary father.
