Lily-Rose Depp appeared to be in high spirits as she celebrated her 23rd birthday on Saturday, May 29, amid her father Johnny Depp's ongoing $100 million libel lawsuit with his ex-wife Amber Heard. She appeared to be putting her family problems behind her as she shared a series of lovely photos while wearing a sash that read: 'Birthday princess.'

Lily-Rose, 23, looked gorgeous in a light pink top with a sheer overlay and a flowery design. The top also had a plunging neckline, and she wore a pair of light blue shorts with it. Lily-Rose posed in front of a bunk bed, letting her blonde curls fall loose down her shoulders.

What's next in Depp v Heard trial: When will jury return, verdict date and what to expect

Heartwarming video of Johnny Depp making court stenographer Judy laugh goes viral

Lily-Rose, who is also the daughter of French actress Vanessa Paradis, shared a snapshot of a birthday bouquet she got. Her father, Johnny, is suing his ex-wife, Amber Heard, for defamation over an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018, in which she talked about being a victim of domestic abuse.

Heard, the 'Aquaman' star, has countersued Johnny for $100 million, and the court case has gotten a lot of attention in recent weeks, with Heard stating that her husband abused and threatened her. Johnny has refuted Heard's allegations of domestic violence and recently stated in court that the allegations have cost him "nothing less than everything."

Johnny stated, "When the allegations were made [and] rapidly circling the globe, telling people I was a drunken cocaine-fuelled menace who beat women – suddenly in my 50s – it's over. You're done."

"So what did it do to me? What effect did it have on me? I put it to you this way, no matter the outcome of this trial, the second the allegations were made against me, the accusations, the second that more and more metastasized and turned into fodder for the media, once that happened, I lost then," Johnny said.

Due to the sheer high-profile nature of the case, the Edward Scissorhands star also feels the claims will follow him for the rest of his life. Johnny said, "That is to say, I lost because that is not a thing that anyone is just going to put on your back for a short period of time. I will live with that for the rest of my life because of the allegations and because it was such a high profile case."

Johnny concluded, "So I lost then, no matter the outcome of this trial. I'll carry that for the rest of my days. It never had to be that way. It never had to happen, and I don't quite understand why it did in the way that it did."

Heard said that she fought "really hard" to continue in the Aquaman sequel after segments from the film were cut and "communication stopped" with the producers after Johnny's team portrayed her assault allegations as a "hoax." During the $100 million defamation trial, she claimed she was called a "liar" because Johnny, 58, is a "bigger star" with "more publicity reach." Heard testified in a Virginia trial that Johnny's 'sophisticated PR machine' had attempted to portray her as a liar in the media, which had harmed her career.

On Friday, jurors began deliberations in the six-week libel trial that cost $100 million. The jury of seven members debated for almost two hours and will begin deliberations on Tuesday, following the US Memorial Day vacation.
