Lil Yachty wants everyone to know that it’s fine to wear nail paints regardless of gender. In fact, the 23-year-old has also recently announced that his upcoming nail polish line, Crete, will launch on May 21, and it’s not only for girls or women. Taking to Instagram a few weeks ago, he wrote, “I’d like to introduce my new nail paint line @crete__co .... FIRST COLOR DROP MAY 21. 4 ALL GENDERS. FOR YOU, NOT THEM!”

On ‘TMZ Live’, the rapper explained why his new venture is important. He said that his nail paints are not for a particular gender, it’s for everyone who wants to put it on. Yachty, whose real name is Miles Parks McCollum, also said that he has found a way to express himself through nail polish and he aims to normalize it for all men and boys who want to follow his path.

Yachty stated that he will be okay if women use his nail paints, but he actually wants men to use Crete and feel comfortable with the idea of polishing their nails without spending time and money on salons. Not just that, during his conversation on ‘TMZ Live’, he did not keep aside the idea of becoming the next beauty billionaire, like Kylie Jenner.

Meanwhile, after Yachty announced his plans publicly on social media, several of his fans and followers welcomed it as one user commented, “We love inclusive yachty.” The second user wrote, “Idc what anyone says I’m rocking that shit.” One of his fans even defended him when some people slammed him for his new shift. The fan said, “y’all corny asf calling a black business owner and someone who’s able to express himself gay over some fucking fingernails😐 anyways i’ll take some.”

Twitter was also buzzing with the news as a person tweeted, “this is cool and if you think otherwise you’re just bland.” “…i say embrace that shit & show your creative side brodie FuCk a HATER,” another stated. The third noted, “Yachty is a legend for me,” and a comment read: “@lilyachty I’ll buy!”

Earlier, Yachty had reportedly taken a stand for a teenager when he faced suspension from school for coloring his nails. 17-year-old Trevor Wilkinson’s nail paint was reportedly not appreciated by his school in Texas last year and the ‘Oprah's Bank Account’ singer then went on to defend him. He had said, “If someone wants to express themself in any type of way, as long as it’s not harming anyone or bringing anyone down, they should be allowed to do so… You shouldn’t be punished or tormented for being you. It’s essentially like, it’s unisex but I want it to be more focused on for men to use it, and to be more comfortable in their own skin. Because bro, it’s 2020, you know what I’m saying, like it’s about to be 2021—come on, what are barriers? We still have barriers?”

At the time, Wilkinson had tweeted, “imagine your school not allowing boys to paint their nails and giving boys iss for it. and the whole administration being okay with it, homophobic and sexist? welcome to west texas.” He also told the Abilene Reporter-News, “I have been doing this to express who I am. I’ve been trapped in closed minded people’s minds. So, I did it and I love my nails. I think they’re so cool. I’m definitely using it to express myself and feel everyone should have that freedom of expression.”
