NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Liam Neeson admitted that he felt "uncomfortable" during his recent appearance as a guest on 'The View' and described the whole segment as "embarrassing." The Irish actor, 70, went on the talk show last week to promote his starring role in 'Marlowe', however, things soon took an awkward turn.

The segment focused heavily on Joy Behar's crush on Neeson which included a montage of clips where the cohost can be seen making on-air comments like, "I would just like to have my ashes sprinkled over Liam Neeson." The interview also found one of the co-hosts joking about the situation. "Joy wants to get taken by you," she said referencing Neeson’s famous film ‘Taken’. However, the ‘Love Actually’ actor can be seen donning a stone face throughout the session. Neeson later opened up to Rolling Stone about his "embarrassing" experience on the ABC talk show.

'It’s just a bit embarrassing'

"I was in the dressing room drinking a cup of tea, turned the TV up, and I thought, oh, this will be great. They're talking about gun violence in America, and I agree that it's an American problem. I go onstage and join the ladies during the break, and I was congratulating them on this discussion," he recounted the events to the outlet on Monday, February 20.

"And then our segment starts, and it's just all this BS with Joy and Liam Neeson and having a crush, and I've known Whoopi for years and Joy a little bit, but I just wasn't impressed. I'm uncomfortable in those situations, you know?" Neeson added that he did have a 'good, intelligent conversation' with co-host Sunny Hostin, 54, after the awkward interaction. "But then the segment’s all about this thirteen, fourteen-year-old crush. It’s just a bit embarrassing," he added.

'To me, it was just always a business'

The action hero, who plays the role of a detective in ‘Marlowe’, further shared his thoughts on the entertainment industry with the outlet. Neeson noted that he always viewed the industry as a "business." He said: "We’ve all heard the stories of Hollywood in the ‘30s and ‘40s — heads of studios, tales of actors like Elizabeth Taylor and Mickey Rooney being fed drugs so they can be ‘peppy’ and ready for the next day’s work. The casting couch, of course. We’ve all heard those stories. I never got involved in that. To me, it was just always a business. There were executives that I met at these pre-screening parties, and we had nothing in common. Not all of them. But the whole business aspect of it I just leave to my agents."
