LGBTQ community slams Lena Dunham for saying she wants her casket driven through NYC Pride parade
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lena Dunham, an author, and an actress, got severely trolled by the LGBTQ community on Sunday, October 2, after she requested the people of the community to do something for her but did not end well. The 36-year-old author wants her casket to be driven through the NYC Pride Parade with a plaque reading, "She wasn’t for everyone, but she *was* for us." The community slammed her request asking why should the community honor her with any of this.
Dunham tweeted, "When I go, I want my casket to be driven through the NYC pride parade with a plaque that reads “she wasn’t for everyone, but she *was* for us”- who can arrange?" The NYC Pride March is one of the biggest parades in the world as it attracts tens of thousands of participants and millions of sidewalk spectators each June to celebrate the LGBTQ community. Previously, Dunham has been awarded the Horizon Award by the gay advocacy group Point Foundation which is given to "a young trailblazer who has taken a leadership role as an advocate," as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The foundation's executive director CEO Jorge Valencia talked about Dunham saying, "There is no one better at conveying the ambition of today’s young adults to overcome obstacles and realize their great potential than Lena Dunham. Dunham uses intelligent humor and compassion to present an honest appraisal of something our Point Scholars know all too well: the struggle to be comfortable in your own skin." However, the people of the community seem to have a major problem with Dunham's request as they slam her.
'What have u ever done for the LGBTQ?'
One user wrote, "Did you lose a bet where they made you tweet this". Another angry user trolled Dunham and tweeted, "You aren't actually for anyone except older millennials who keep getting kicked out of social spaces for saying slurs." One user had other plans and advised Dunham saying, "Counterpoint: we drive a photo of you through the jersey shore with a sign that says “we’re not sure who she is either'"

One user heavily trolled Dunham and claimed that the LGBTQ community does not love her back saying, "Imagine being Lena Dunham and thinking “gay people really like me” and then reading the comments in this post." Another user reminded Dunham of what the community stands for after she made an offensive statement saying, "Pride is for us, not gratifying the egos of straight people who see us as accessories." One user asked Dunham about the contributions she has made to the community to be treated in such a way saying, "And what have u ever done for the LGBTQ? Sis you ain’t no gay icon."
