Laura McCulloch: 'Missing' actress found in LA jail for biting cops, throwing drink at mom, baby
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: An Australian actress, who was thought to be missing by her family, was found behind bars after she acted out of order under the influence of alcohol and even bit a police officer on the shoulder. Laura McCulloch went out on a date with a man she met on a dating app and didn't turn up the next morning to her work, the yoga class, and her other commitments, instantly alarming the family who started an online campaign of finding McCulloch.
As per Daily Mail, the 37-year-old Australian actress was locked up after the drunk incident during her date where she threw a drink at another customer and their 2-year-old child and resisted cops. According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, Laura McCulloch is being held on a felony charge, with a $25,000 bond. The Santa Monica Police Department department said in a statement, "On Friday, August 12, 2022, at approximately 8.30 pm Santa Monica Police Department Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Arizona for what was reported as a battery. According to the reporting party, a female, later identified as Laura McCulloch, threw a drink at a restaurant patron and their 2-year-old child." The report further mentioned McCulloch's drunk status saying, "Upon arrival, officers contacted Ms McCulloch who showed obvious signs of intoxication."

The report further reads, "While conducting the investigation, McCulloch charged at the officers while yelling expletives. Despite efforts to calm her, McCulloch continued to display aggressive behaviors. During efforts to detain her, she became physically combative, kicked at officers, and bit one officer on the shoulder. Laura McCulloch, 37 years old from Australia, was arrested, transported to the Santa Monica Jail, and booked for public intoxication and resisting arrest."

McCulloch had informed her family before going out on a date with the guy she met on a dating app, and even sent the family a picture of what she was going to wear. The reports indicate that McCulloch showed obvious signs of intoxication which provoked her to act out of the ordinary, landing her in the pile of trouble she is in now. She is now said to be at the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Her cousin, Merrie McCulloch, told Daily Mail, "Yes, I can confirm she’s in safe hands and have also been asked to please help update media with the information that she’s been located, and thank you for your support."
At the time of the disappearance, McCulloch's family mentioned that she intended to go Gyu-Kaku, a Japanese BBQ restaurant. McCulloch moved to LA only a year ago and was previously working out of New York as an actor, singer, voice-over artist, writer, and producer. She played Madame Le Farge in an American stage version of A Tale of Two Cities at Bob Jones University in South Carolina. In the initial days of her career, she worked in films like 'The Nutcracker' (2009) and 'The Black Sheep' (2010). Her recent screen credit was in 2022 in an indie short film called 'Covid Support Group' directed by American filmmaker Abigail Bogle.
