Did Larsa Pippen's alleged affair with rapper Future lead to divorce with NBA star Scottie Pippen?
Larsa and Scottie Pippen have shared a marriage strong enough to last more than two decades, having wed in 1997. They later split in 2018, but did Larsa Pippen have an affair with rapper Future that led to her divorce with NBA star, Scottie Pippen?
As their breakup was making headlines back in 2018, rumors started to spread that Larsa had an affair with rapper Future - she denied the allegations strongly, though. Now, after her marriage with Scottie was mentioned in 'The Last Dance', a new sports miniseries, Larsa took to her social media to address the so-called affair in order to set the record straight - yet again.
The relationship between the Pippens was all bright and rosy with four kids in tow when in October 2016, former NBA star Scottie filed for divorce. A representative for Scottie had revealed to E! News, “After careful consideration and 19 years together, Larsa and Scottie have each filed for dissolution of their marriage. Although they are no longer to be married, Larsa remains hopeful that she and Scottie will always do what is best for their 4 beautiful children and jointly raise them with love and respect. She would like to thank everyone for their understanding and kindly ask for privacy from the media during this difficult time of transition for her family.”
Of course, the invested public then got involved as rumors started to surface that Larsa had a close relationship with Future - who to be fair, has been in murky waters himself with relationships. TMZ had reported that the duo had gone out more than once and had a source claiming that the duo was allegedly seen getting "cozy" on one of those occasions. It was reported that Larsa only had a "casual" relationship with the 'Turn On The Light' rapper and that it began after Scottie apparently "openly" flirted with another woman.
As marriages go though, the Pippens were working on their marriage according to a source that told US Weekly in February 2017. Although the duo may have been mum on their reconciliation, the 14 karat ring Scottie gave Larsa on that Valentine's Day' definitely made some noise. Future, in all his glory, released his song 'Rent Money' around this time, which seemed to allude to him having hooked up with Larsa along with throwing shade at Scottie - again, the couple with mum on the subject.
In November of 2018, TMZ obtained a statement where Larsa filed for divorced claiming that they were better off apart. With this, the internet did its thing by bringing up her so-called affair with Future, but Larsa took to Instagram to share that it was loneliness that brought on the divorce not infinitely.
Now, all those years later, Larsa is back at it again defending herself after 'The Last Dance' debuted, with a tweet that has been deleted. “I was married to him for 20 years, I did everything for him and my family. People change and that’s what really happened. Most people can’t even imagine being in a relationship for a week so I know it’s beyond imagination… Cheating wasn’t the problem," the alleged tweet read.
