Larry Storch, the comedic character actor best known for his portrayal of Corporal Randolph Agarn on "F Troop," and who also did voiceover work died at the age of 99 on Thursday, July 7. Storch's family shared about his death on his Facebook Page, saying "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share with you the news our beloved Larry passed away in his sleep overnight." News of Storch's death comes a day after passing of 'The Godfather' actor James Caan who died at the age of 82 on July 6, Wednesday.

"We are shocked and at a loss for words at the moment. Please remember he loved each and every one of you and wouldn’t want you to cry over his passing. He is reunited with his wife Norma and his beloved F Troop cast and so many friends and family", the statement on Facebook added. No other details about his death were shared by the family. James Hampton, Storch's co-star on 'F Troop' died in 2021 at the age of 81. Storch was a regular on TV shows in the 1960s and 1970s, appearing on "The Love Boat" and "Car 54, Where Are You?" He starred in the 1970s children's show "The Ghost Busters" as well. He portrayed Al Bundy's childhood hero who owned an acting school in "Married... With Children." "I Dream of Jeannie," "That Girl," "Fantasy Island," "Columbo," "Mannix," "Get Smart," "Gilligan's Island," and "Love, American Style" were among his other television appearances.

Many of Storch's friends, fans, and co-actors paid their condolences on Twitter. "The great Larry Storch. Adios, amigo. RIP", Star Trek star Brent Spiner wrote.



 

"Sad to learn of Larry Storch's passing. Known him since we were teens in NYC. A wonderful man, brilliantly talented, great impressionist & even scouted by Brooklyn Dodgers. Didn't work together but saw each other a lot. He sure had a great life. Rest in Peace old friend", actor and singer Peter Marshall wrote.



 

Alan Spencer tweeted, "Larry Storch had a long, long career… but his turn as “The Groovy Guru” on “Get Smart!” remains one of the greatest guest star turns of all time. Due to his passing, that dippy song will be stuck in my head all day today."



 

Storch, who was born in New York, attended high school with "Get Smart" star Don Adams, with whom he remained friends for life. He dropped out of high school to work as a stand-up comedian before joining the United States Navy, where he served alongside Tony Curtis. Storch was nominated for an Emmy for comedy actor in “F Troop” in 1967, but lost to Adams. He also worked in theater, appearing onstage as late as 2012.

Storch had married Norma in 1961 and remained married for over 40 years. She passed away nearly 20 years before her husband back in 2003 at the age of 81. The actor's net worth was reportedly around $ 1 million, Celebrity Net Worth reports. Storch had a daughter Candace with Norma, step-daughter Larry May and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by June Cross, Norma's daughter with Jimmy Cross.

Storch was also a frequent variety show guest, appearing on "Laugh-In," "Sonny and Cher," "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson," and his own "The Larry Storch Show," which he created after filling in for Jackie Gleason on his talk show. At Warner Bros., he voiced Merlin the Magic Mouse and Cool Cat, as well as characters on "The Brady Kids," "Tennessee Tuxedo," and "The Pink Panther Show."
